Default 5 boxing on a budget

    Hey guys,

Been playing WoW for about 4 years now and at most I’ve boxed 3 toons. Looking at starting 5boxing but my old pc is unable to handle this (Athlon64 2400, 256mb Radeon 9800XT and only 1GD RAM ).

Looking to upgrade to a new pc, don’t have much cash to spend so basically I’m just wondering what is the minimum spec cpu and graphics I need to successfully multibox. Doesn’t have to be able to run max graphics or anything (my current pc runs everything on low)….

    Thanks in advance

How much do you want to spend? And do you only want to buy a box and its internals or are you after a new mouse/keyb/monitors as well?

Will just be buying motherboard, cpu, ram and graphics card. Will salvage everything else from my other pc. Looking to spend as little as possible, upto £500

I just purchases an i7 (read 4 core) Tower from dell (studio xps) w/ 6 gigs of ddr3 for <$930 US. I 5 box my shammies/pally tank w/ no issue at medium vid settings. I have a crappy vid card holding me from running max settings (soon to be rectified) but overall im very pleased.

looks like you are just under what you need for an I7 setup, but my currency rate is fuzzy.

For $500 you could get a Q6600, 8 gigs and a mid-range GPU. I think the P45 is the highest chipset for an old Quad. Figuring 500 pounds or Quid is closer to $700 you can get a I5 with a P55 board. They offer different RAM I think (Dual, Triple) but it is all DDR3 RAM which is little pricier. Still looking at a decent Vid card like a 260 or 48xx series. Price it out at your local/mail order source and report back.
RAF Tour Guide files are obsolete, I went to Zygor
    MultiBoxers play with themselves

At my local supplier I can get an i5-750 + mobo, an HD4890 1GB and 8GB ram for £500 or with an HD4890 2GB for £550.

This should be fine for 5 boxing shouldn't it....?
