@Rin
I saw a solo toon botting. The reason why they attack your mob is because they get xp. They might not be able to loot the mob but they will get some xp for doing some damage. This is sort of a good idea. The reason i say it is a good idea, having my sorc, i have to get away from mob and then start casting my spells and by the time my first one hits the mob i have another one on its way. Now a melee person probably doesn't see me and starts attacking my mob. (Now there is no way that he can out dps 2 sorcerer, but if they did the wow way he would have tagged the mob, cause he attacked first and i would have killed it). So half the time i just go my way cause i don't want to steal kill, but it is pissing me off cause it is happening 60% of the time.

The asmo should have the same amount of quests as the Eylos (or at least close to it; check aionarmory.com for an entire list of quests).
@Moorea - If the game weren't a grind fest, wouldn't there be someone, anyone, at level 50? I mean, the game has been out for two weeks (almost 3 if you got in the pre-order) now and people aren't even close (though there are some low 40s). I'd imagine that we'll start seeing people at 50 over the next week or so, but still. And though this thread is a bit dated, it does illustrate one player's frustration with the "grind":
http://www.aionsource.com/forum/chit...l-44-45-_.html
Either way, you're either killing a lot more things than me while doing your quests, or I missed a bunch of content? (that would actually be refreshing). Anyways, I attempted to "save" quests, and not grind, but it turns into a grind shortly into the level. I have 0 quests left in the Eylos newb zone, 1 quest (that I'm aware of) left in the level 10-11 starting area, 1 campaign quest that I currently have open and am eligible for, and about 4 other various quests. There are a bunch of quests that I'm not eligible for (will be at 24) in the forest, so we'll see if my thoughts/views change over time.
Is there anyway to see the /played time total for a character? I'd like to see where I'm at currently and see how I stack up to your played time (perhaps I'm doing it wrong)
Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about it (never have been, check out my posts), I actually like the grind, but not calling it a grind is just foolish.

Also,
Moorea, please check this out (this is older information, but it's still about right in terms of EXP needed to level):

There are some more updated values on Aion Source, including this:
Experience to Level
Note: This was confirmed from random tells and 2-3 people providing exactly the same numbers.
Level 20: 1,000,147
Level 21: 1,295,094
Level 22: 1,609,877
Level 23: 2,001,924
Grand Total: 5,907,042
XP from Kills/Craft/Gathering/PvP required to get level 24 (assuming all previous quests are complete): 2,700,012
The above (only confirmed by other players) points out that you need to get 2.7 million exp between the quests that are available in game. This would, in my opinion, represent what I and other users have been talking about here, where you need to grind out exp between 20 and 24. I think that saying that you won't run out of quests is silly, unless of course you're grinding a bunch and not discussing it here (perhaps you're killing extras between quests?). If you're only doing quests and aren't grinding at all, then please tell me and everyone else HOW you're doing it, because clearly I'm doing it wrong, and I'd love to enlighten others once I learn the secrets.
Assume that you get 6000 exp per kill; it would take you about 450 kills between levels 20 and 24 (this is on top of the quests that you do). For my breakdown, I said that I did about 60 creatures per hour, so this would be 7.5 hours total. From my experience, I will say that I have spent almost that 7.5 hr total now grinding mobs, (hence why I still have a few quests available) and I'm almost level 24 (I'm sure that maybe 30 mins of grinding + finishing the rest of my open quests would = 24, easy).
Again, it's not a big deal, but it still takes this game back to EverQuest mode in my mind.

Obviously I do kill stuff; the stuff needed to quest and things aggroed along the way - also doing the Krall quests I don't stop the second I'm done with my drops/quest but we continue until everybody in the group got them
There are many quests which only open after you've done others and many that don't even seem to show up as "grey mark" one level and when you come back after dinging there is a bunch of blue new quests - I suggest you visit the flight paths and quest hubs of the zone you're in several times (though this happen pretty naturally between the "deliver this" and the returns)
Saying that it takes time to get to 50 has absolutely nothing to do whether or not you need to grind to get there - from my current experience; yes it takes longer to get to 20 in aion than in wow; but that does NOT mean you need to grind - just means there is more content "per level" (and that combat takes a bit longer than wow, per mob, probably) - likewise the xp number you need to level is irrelevant - what matters is how many you get by completing a quest - and completing a quest gives you the xp of the reward AND the xp of the kills... A recent quest return for level 20 gave me 120k xp, so like kinah vs gold; aion xp is a different scale and it doesn't make sense to look at absolute numbers - just whether you can do your quests and level and so far it is (earlier someone claimed they had to grind a lot to get to 21; I can say I duo-ed to 21 without any grind - unless you count clearing krall as "grind" I call this fun mmo group quests...) - maybe it changes dramatically from 21 to 23 but it didn't from 19 to 21 so I have my doubts... I'll be happy to say when I do run out of quests, if at all
ps: and again I get 1/2 of the kill xp for all the normal non elite kills (in group of 2) - so solo players would certainly not run out of quest to 21 (assuming they do group to do the group quests...)
