    Default 5 box - T4, T5, T6??

From what I have read, it seems a 5 box team is able to solo all the heroic instances, but beyond that, they are stuck. Kara is 10m, Gruul is 25m and beyond is also out of reach.

Has anyone found a team willing to take 4 or 5 boxed chars with them to Kara or beyond? Will the lack of variety (4 shammy or 4 shammy and a prot pally) be a liability for the bigger raids?

You might want to take a look at the first page. The one in which Ellay posted a picture of his 4 shammies in a ZA run.

And as far as it being accepted in most guilds I highly doubt it. People are greedy and if one person get to take up half of a raid people are going to complain. Sure you have to play all of the characters but people will see it as one person getting five times the loot.

I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm only going to be able to gear up as far as heroics (including badges) and PvP rewards. I suspect that's going to be the case for pretty much all of us.

Quite how you'd box past Kara I don't know anyway. It'll be interesting to see if the US-Mag guys get something going in that direction.

kinda off topic, but the reason i started multi-boxing was because my play schedule doesn't fit most raid schedules. i work third shift so its basically impossible to find groups when i want to play, so i'm trying to solve that issue by building my own group

back on topic tho, i agree that a multiboxer in a normal guild setting would probably not be invited to a raid for kara or beyond, just because of the slots for other guild members that would be taken up.

does this mean its not possible? of course not. most people here who have a 70s team and even some that dont are very capable of managing 5 characters, and doing it efficiently. once there's enough multi-boxers at the point of 10-25 mans, i hope <the zerg> tries to go in that direction

My original goal was to do all the heroic content. I've got a new end-game goal: me and another 5-boxer clearing Kara. Ha!

The Zerg could eventually have enough to run a multi-box only 25-man. I'm pretty sure we'd fail horribly. But we'd have enough.

I can share with you that we (my team of 4 warlocks and 1 priest) killed the prince in karazhan yesterday.

This was done with my gf and 4 other guys from my guild.

10man raid should not be too difficult if you have some online friends since you litteraly are half the raid.

25-man however could be a bit more difficult, but might be possible if you have an open minded guild. However I must say I cant blame the guild if they dont want you in their raid. Playing 5 chars at once will allmost certain gimp your performance in some way, so its usually just better to bring 5 different people for those raid.

Personally I might aim for using one character as a main and bring the others in as reserves when we're lacking people, people are slacking, dont show up at the right time, etc.

I think it depends on the fights. Karazhan seems very doable by a 5-man team, with very few tricky areas. Fights like Kael'thas would be hard to impossible, though, due to the degree of individual movement required.

I think the best example of a multibox-impossible fight is Thaddius (pre-TBC). To beat that fight, you have a maximum of 3-5 seconds to react to random members of your 5-box group getting a debuff, and then move each member individually, depending on their debuff, about 10 yards.

I was trying to come up with multibox strats for that fight, for fun, but the only thing I could come up with would be to create a custom UI mod that triggers the 'move forward' command, and is bound to 30 separate keys (one for each combination of debuffs, not counting 11111 and 00000). These have to be separate due to Blizzard's code model that prevents anything that triggers movement from being changed in combat.

You could then make another UI mod that displayed a grid of 30 boxes on your main, and would automatically highlight a number depending on which combination of debuffs actually happened. You could then press that key to cause the right characters to either move forward or stand still, assuming they were all lined up perfectly.

But even that depends on your guild using a left/right strat, which not all do, since a north/south/east/west strat works better.

I just finished up Serpentshrine Cavern last night, an entire clear - was a pretty fun instance. Vashj fight was fun with 4

I also did a full Kara clear earlier in the day yesterday and I frap's every boss fight was going to make a quick video to put out but a friend said it was a scrub run and to wait till next week when we have mains play instead of alts.

So next week expect a full Kara clear with my 4 Shaman

Holy crap, Ellay, you really are re-defining the boundaries for us all with what you do.

Also, when you get things like the "bomb" on bosses that put a major debuff where you have to run away from everyone, I assume you just control that 3rd clone or whatever and run him away? Must get really fun micro'ing that much for Solarian and Vashj and all.

Seriously though, it's an inspiration to hear about it. =)
