    Default New WSG Potential

With the recent changes to battlegrounds and the apparent buff to the other bg's in a sense of experience (I've not tried them yet). I'm wondering whether WSG is going to be a good source of XP for those people near the end of a battleground level range.

For example a 78/79 (maybe 77) team etc to gain their last few levels....

In WSG we have a lot of control over what happens and with some combinations controlling a strong 5 man team can easily collect and hold a flag. It makes me wonder whether it's worth doing.

On another note for those with a "1 level higher" in the group, remember to switch xp gain off just before you hit 80! Until your others have caught up.

    Hmm yes interesting.
I am curious about Arathi Basin & Eye of the Storm myself, as they have always been my favourits.
I hope I have some time to do a bit of AB this weekend to check the numbers since it is BG holiday.
    Valerion - Protection Paladin - 80
    Kawachi - Elemental Shaman - 80
    Kahachi - Elemental Shaman - 80
    Kazachi - Elemental Shaman - 80
    Kamachi - Elemental Shaman - 80

I would assume as Alliance, even with XP boost, WSG will still be a miserable experience.

Well they say it's meant to be equal to the gain of AV etc so in theory you can gain a decent amount, the main strength here being "You're in control" more of who wins.

I think with some of the stronger teams this could work very nicely.

If you win AB it's just as good as AV, if you lose it's far worse than losing an AV. If you can 5 cap or 4 cap most of the game then it's worth it. My current team is only 75 so I'm winning when I have teammates 75 or up, but for some reason I'm getting mostly level 70-71 teammates and we're losing close games that go for a very long time so I'm going to wait to do AB until I'm 78ish.

I haven't tried WSG, but I suspect the experience to be the same as my AB experiences so far. I'm sure if you 3 cap very quickly it beats AV exp, but if the game gets drawn out or you lose than it's worse than even losing an AV.

In the end, I'm going to assume the AV npc's levels will be fixed this coming Tuesday via hotfix and simply rushing Van/Drek for fast AV's is going to beat everything. Still, might be worth playing the others until you get a 100 of each bg mark simply to turn in for honor at 80. I'll also mention that Alliance dominates AV in my battlegroup (shadowburn) and I play horde so we have to really work for our wins here with so many bad hordies running around.

I have thought about this also and the tried it after the xp hotfix. Overall the other BGs are better for xp now. WSG and AB, Eots can be won very fast. horde on my BattleGroup win pretty damn fast with the only exception being AB. Which can take up to the max sometimes. I think more people are starting to catch on with the changes to the full amount of people needed to start AV, queues are just sometimes insane (Weekends will prob be good) the other BGs are just better choices.

I got from lvl 12 to 18 yesterday in WSG with my warlocks( doing quests while in que ) When i remembered to pay attention to my exp bar, on 3 flag cap games i got 25% of a level or better. Any game where I got a cap seem to make the run worth it.

The fact that the game ends in 20 minutes no matter what helps. I have had hour+ games in the past and just ended up AFKing out. I cant wait for AB, but I will gain a few levels first. 5 Warlocks at early levels are sooo much fun!

edit: I wanted to add that my locks have full BoA gear ( 20% exp gain )
Currently 5 Boxing 5 Protection Paladins on Whisperwind Alliance
The Power of Five!!! ( short video )

The trouble with WSG is it is useless if you don't capture flags and/or win. You get nothing.

And this, unfortunately, is why I will never play it for leveling. Oh well...
