Default Experimenting with unit frames / clique type things

    Howdy,

So after seeing it mentioned, I am experimenting with the add on Clique and an add on called Grid that sounds pretty cool. I use ISboxer so I will create a mouse click region and be able to heal from any character.

Anyways, my question. For those of you who use grid... Can you / Are you supposed to use it to replace your regular character frame / party frame? Or is it in addition to those?

If it doesnt replace the party frame.... do you guys use something else besides vanilla UI, and if so, why do you use what you use? I am running out of screen space so if I can make this grid a substitude for party bars that might be cool.

Just hoping for some insight into what others are doing,

    Thanks.

I use pitbull v4 as my main player, party, pet, target, etc UI. It is very customisable, scalable, and you can even remove whole elements completely.

Bear in mind that if you use grid as your replacement player UI you won't get power and mana bars though if thats important to you, although there are some grid addons that provide these features.

Personally when I'm soloing or in a 5-man I leave the standaard (albeit pitbull replaced) party frames in place, although I do still use grid and clique for healing. But, when I'm in a bg or a raid I have pitbull set to automatically remove the party frames completely and just rely on grid.

    Regards,

I have it showing health and mana (though not the numbers, just % based bars)...

The main issue I can think of with replacing the main bars is that I will lose my right click context menu for myself and my party members... and dont really know of any way to duplicate that functionality (there is probably slash commands available for everything but thats a pain)...

not sure what im going to do yet.

I use Grid as my primary party/raid frames while both multi-boxing and single-boxing. I have the normal party unit frames disabled (I can still the unit frames of myself and my target, though).

I don't see that normal frames give me any information that I need to know, but they take up a large amount of screenspace, so why use them?

Grid shows me health/mana and all relevant debuffs, and SmartBuff tells me when people need buffs - what else do you need a unit frame for?

First of all welcome back RedBeard

Healing from any character using mouse repeater and the clique addon is a great idea. Fast reaction heals are one of my greatest problems. I would like to hear from you how things are going. I use ISboxer as well. I have been using Clique on my priest for about two months now so I am familar with its workings.

send next click only sends the next click right? or does it send the mouse position and a mouse button effect.

using IS and region windows lets you click on the healer's set-up from the main's screen. It is best not to have things in the region on the mains screen. When I use the system, my healer's buttons light up to show I am in the right place.

I'm using Pitbull for my Unit Frames.
I find it to be very easy to customize.
It took a bit to learn, and I asked a few questions here, with good responses.

I also use Grid and GridCustomLayouts.
You can configure it to appear the same on each screen.
You can configure it to show one layout in parties and another in raids if you want.

I would think you'd get the most benefit from having Grid displayed exactly the same on the master and healer toons.
You'd then set up your mouse repeating region(s).
Click the desired box on the main, and have it repeat in the same spot on the healer.
Have Clique enabled on the healer, so a click actually does something other then just target the toon.

Having some issues with multiple healers... sometimes clique works and sometimes not. Installing a new system now and will be reinstalling ./ setting up all of my mods so will see if the problem persists.
