    Default AV xp buff hotfix

looks like they xp nerf was unintentional according to Zarhym, and they've now buffed the xp in all BG's

    Q u o t e:
If you felt AV XP was too powerful compared to other Battlegrounds, maybe you should buff the others???

That's precisely what we've done with this new hotfix.
    Q u o t e:
Please just say it: we were leveling too fast and having fun so you sent us back to grinding on boars to move up.

The experience gains in Alterac Valley were not adjusted in patch 3.2.2. The gains were percentage-based according to level brackets. Since the level brackets changed in 3.2.2, the experience gains decreased as a result. Because of this, we've added an across-the-board increase to experience gains in all Battlegrounds to compensate for the adverse affect on Alterac Valley that came as a result of the level bracket changes, as well as make gaining experience in our other Battlegrounds more viable.

    Q u o t e:

What exactly was wrong with players leveling through PvP (if that is their fancy). Explain that.
Absolutely nothing. That's why we implemented experience gains in Battlegrounds in the first place. The nerf to experience gains in Alterac Valley in 3.2.2 was not intentional. It was a side effect of the level bracket change. Again, we've applied a hotfix to substantially increase experience gains across the board for all Battlegrounds. Alterac Valley experience gains should now be better than they were immediately following the patch. Experience gains in all other Battlegrounds should now be better than they ever have been.

I was so relieved that I'll be able to skip some of those Northrend collection quests I had to make my first post, although I haven't tested it yet to see how much of a buff it is. Great site btw!

And what a great post to start with!

There were at least two members that quit because of the loss of AV xp, perhaps this will entice them back.

"Ummm, no... that wasn't intentional. (Bob, hurry up and buff everything, we're losing subscribers!) In fact, we meant to buff them even more!"

No such thing as bad PR. Blizzard proves to be the master of spin by pissing everyone off with a "mistake" and then being the hero by buffing things to make up for it. I'll give it a try in the morning, but right now I feel a bit jaded or maybe like a battered wife that should know better. Besides, my Aion characters are almost level 10.

Like I said, I'll see how I feel about it in the morning.

Seriously - did you just equate yourself to a battered wife because of blizzard buffing, nerfing then rebuffing XP gains in battlegrounds.

Sure hope that Aion doesn't continue this cycle of abuse by nerfing things.

Hopefully in the morning you'll have gained a bit of perpsective.

Yes, I did. I made the comparison because despite all indications that things will never change, I find some way to believe things will be different this time. Sorry if this comparison was a little too melodramatic for you, but I thought the sarcasm was noticeable.

As for perspective, whose perspective should I gain, since apparently mine doesn't count.

I suggested finding some perspective - not finding someone elses.

I didn't say you were wrong to be annoyed at blizzard - I just had a problem with your analogy.

When you mentioned battered wives I imagined people in abusive relationship, getting the crap knocked out of them on a regular basis, living in constant fear. Too scared to change things.

So it seemed completely out of kilter with your earlier statement of feeling " a bit jaded".
Quite a bit different from what you were trying for.

Knowing now what you were really trying to convey with your analogy I apologise.

It's all good. I can see how the battered wife thing can be taken out of context. I'm not in any real danger, and I didn't intend to belittle domestic violence. Codependent would have prolly been a better way to phrase it, but I tend toward the sarcastically melodramatic at times. I just feel stupid sometimes for getting so angry at a change that I am willing to stop playing only to come back so easily.

S'all good. I'll either find somethign fun to keep me playing, or I'll try other things till I do find something fun. Aion might not be the answer, but it's fresh and the timing was almost too perfect. There are a lot of wow expatriates over there citing this patch as the reason, but who knows how many will be back in a week or two. Optimally I'd like to get enjoyment out of both games.
