Default Can I ask for hardware advice here?

Im currently 5 boxing WoW (struggling) on my work laptop, on which I am used to playing at roughly 5-10 FPS... so am very excited to be putting together a new system.

Looking to spend around 1300 with monitor included, and I already own a gtx geforce 285 graphics card, so that helps.

Here is what Ive picked out, anyone see any glaring issues here? Id hate to drop money and not see a marked improvement.

Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power "compatible with Core i7" Power Supply
    Item #:N82E16817371015

ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 ATX Intel Motherboard
    Item #:N82E16813131365

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F2EG 1.5TB 3.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Computer Case

    Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor

    G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders w/ Tech Guarantee

My current laptop has a core 2 duo 2.5ghz w/ windows XP 32bit and 2gb of RAM so.... =P

    Thanks for any thoughts.

I'm in a rush so I didn't have a chance to look through all your components, but I really recommend you to rethink that cpu and motherboard. With the new i5 standard and 1156 motherboards that's both cheaper and more friendly for future upgrades. If you still get some cash over you would like to spend, I'd recommend getting a SSD harddrive

It looks very similar to the upgrade I am thinking about soon. I would strongly recommend having a second hard drive exclusively for Wow. I saw a big increase in performance when I did that. I use 2 10k raptors in a RAID0 array but even a pair of cheap 80GB drives would work. Just make sure you get 16MB cache drive/drives if you go the cheapo route ^^

Of course that is going to be overkill for 5 so you might not notice that much performance degradation with one drive.

Looks good. Yes, you'll see a nice improvment over your current laptop setup.

For your next upgrade I'd go with a 2nd harddrive as has been mentioned. If you are using it only for WoW, a cheap 32GB SSD can be great. Just symlink the folders to save space or open them all from 1 folder. At some point you can upgrade to 12GB of RAM too, but 6GB should be good enough for now - at least until the next expansion comes out.

My only criticism is that you'd probably see a little better performance by going with the new i7's over the 920 (840 I think is the new, cheap i7). It costs the same as the 920, but has a better clock speed and you can match to the cheaper 1156 mobo's. Nothing wrong with your build, but if you're going the newegg.com route you can save a few bucks and get slightly better performance.

Stuff got here yesterday... havent gotten much time to box, this weekend will see how it goes. I took your guys' advice and went with 3 hard drives.. I didnt get SSD but I got 3 250gb drives, installed the OS on one and put the other two in a RAID0 array, which I will install my games on. So hopefully that will help a bit. It was only a little bit more expensive than the big drive I was going to get.

    I appreciate everyone's thoughts.
