Deadly glad gear - prob a stupid question but...

Probably a stupid question, but I knoweth nothing of WOW pvp.

Since the entire Deadly gladiator set can be bought with just honor points, but some pieces require arena ratings (max is 1350)...well since 1350 is below the 1500 a fresh arena team starts with can you just create/join an arena team, never do any arena and then buy the gear, since you have 1500 rating to begin with?


I have an old warrior alt that I'll be leveling up soon, and she's always been my pvp toon, so was planning to buy her all the pvp gear I can get without actually doing competitive arena matches...

Deadly gear has no rating requirement sense S7 started a few weeks ago (can be purchased with straight honor, ~30-40k per piece)

Furious (the next level up) can be obtained for less honor per piece (~8-12k) + a small ammount of arena points (300-400), the rating requirements for furious pieces are below 1000 (easy to reach as you dont loose points for losses below 1000 rating) for everything except hat/shoulders

I barely hit 800 rating 2 weeks ago......and about 1/3 of my losses i loose points. I am having a hell of a time tring to get b ack above 800 so i can at least get the gloves on my team

Arena rating now starts at 0

Does not require rating:
Deadly Set (ilevel 213)
Furious offset (ilevel 226)

Requires Rating:
Furious Set (ilevel 232)
Relentless all (ilevel 245+)

Its worth doing arena anyway as you get a much discounted rate on the arena sets
