    40c so 104F
I had a video card in my last PC that would shut down due to heat...and eventually got to the extent where it started shutting down sooner and sooner

    Thought I included that sorry...
No that's still fairly low 40C I mean it shouldn't be a serious temp...as long as you are getting an accurate reading

No it is NOT a bad temperature, by any means. Now if it were 80C...I'd get worried.

My i7 runs at about 70c but it's OCed to 3.6ghz, been running that way since I got it and had zero problems.

My i7 runs at 60-65c with 5 clients open medium-high settings in dalaran.

40c is great and nothing to worry about.

*as Drizhal said, so long as you're getting a good reading. I use a program called coretemp.

My room is hotter than than 40c. I would try to keep the cpu under around 60c and the case/mb under 50c. Not that 50c is too hot but then your cpu wont cool as well. The best cpu fans/heatsinks can only keep the cpu at about 10c above the internal case temperature. So keeping you case cooler means a cooler cpu and more overclocking if you wish.
