Thread: Why I love RAF

    Default Why I love RAF

I'm sure its been said dozens of times but I've got to give thanks to this forum for first enlightening me and then continually providing the resources I need in my gaming addiction as an Altoholic.

I had a wow account since launch but never got into it for 2 reasons: the grind and I picked alliance.. so I went on to play CoX and EVE until my PnP game group told me that WoW isn't as grindy as it used to be. That same week the latest expansion for EVE is launched (aprocrypha) launches with all kinds of issues that pushed me over the edge. I reactivated my 5+ yr old WOW account again in March of this year, chose Horde with a Balance druid that took me 2 months to get to 55. Once at 55, I immediately rolled up a DK (doesn't everyone??) and felt OP for a while until one day I stumbled onto the RAF discussions on rpg.net which then lead me here. RAF?? x3 xp .. no way! gifting levels and a free mount??

I used to dualbox EVE online (My main team was a Marauder pilot with a Tech2 Drake tank) so I was prepared as I started off as a dualboxer, then promptly went 3 box then just gave up and went 5 box and loving every RAF minute of it. My current Pally team is hitting outlands right now after 2 days played (all questing, I'm in no rush) and once at 60 I'll be granting levels to 3 lvl30 toons (warrior/mage/priest) so I'll have at least a level 60 of every class (my original goal to try out every class). I wanted to make sure I got everything I could out of my RAF time before I needed to worry about endgame content, professions, gear etc.

Now my journey begins onward to 80 with my main mixed team: 64 Ele Shaman/63 Balance Druid/63 Demo lock/60 Retadin/60 MM hunter (I'll prolly have to respec the pally into Prot)
    Next team: 60 Dk/Retsx4

    Rig: Q6600 8g ram Win 7 Pro 64bit, Nvidia 8800/Matrox triplehead2go (3 28" 1080p LCD's at 5040x1000 res),Logitech G13/G9, ISboxer/Jamba

There is no real reason not to spec your Paladin to Prot and get use to it. Nothing you ever come across will live long enough for you to justify being Ret; and running instance at level will require your tank to be Prot. I ran the team through most of Outland instance’s, avoiding the majority of the collection quests. Having a Prot Pally will also allow you to gather up a TON of mobs and then let your team blast them to pieces.
8/7/09 Level 1 – Pally (Tank); Priest (Shadow); Shaman (Resto); Mage (Frost); Druid (Balance)
8/19/09 Level 62 – Pally (Tank); Priest (Shadow); Shaman (Resto); Mage (Frost); Druid (Balance)
8/29/09 Level 68 – Pally (Tank); Priest (Shadow); Shaman (Resto); DK (Blood); Druid (Balance)
9/5/09 Level 72 – Pally (Tank); Priest (Shadow); Shaman (Resto); DK (Blood); Druid (Balance)
9/19/09 Level 80 – Pally (Tank); Priest (Shadow); Shaman (Resto); Hunter (BM)); Druid (Balance)
