I wouldn't buy any computer parts at Fry's. Not to mention, their staff don't know jack squat. But then again, I've been a PC tech for over 10 years, so I'm very biased. =)

Well, you'd think I'd know better. I'm a software engineer by trade (over 12 years), I know how it all operates and have built a LOT of computers. I just get lazy sometimes and don't want to think

To be fair though, Fry's took the parts back and happily exchanged them with no restocking fee or anything.

Yeah, I should have come in here and asked, but, I tend to get into those "I'm going to figure this out myself if it kills me!" modes ;(

This is why I buy most of my things from Frys. I haven't had any more issue with their quality than that of online retailers and a five minute drive and no hassle return beats anything I've seen elsewhere.

Heck I returned my perfectly good ATI card for an nVidia because WoW didn't like it and they didn't have a problem with that.
