Jamba to the PEOPLE! I would love to see Jamba and JambaDev on Curse.

I am a Curse Premium Member and that and Carbonite are the only things I have to go and find manually. Not overly caring would be awesome tho.

If they break V4 to not support multiple installs I will most likely be requesting a refund.

Curse Client has not worked for me since I went to Vista. I would gladly use something else if there was something that worked. WoWInterface is ok, that is where Tour Guide is hosted.
I also understand why Curse blocked WoWMatrix, Cost them hits which means money.
If there was a good client, people would fly away from Curse.

So I download the add ons in to the main wow folder.
Just need to configure what addons you want on each character, but not a big deal.

That sounds like teh suxxor. However, my slave wow's only have jamba installed, no other addons needed at this point, so it's not a big deal for me to manually install one addon to each of the slaves' folders.

Maybe I'll symlink the interface folder too though and just configure the toons on the slave accounts to only have jamba enabled...I have enough other bits of the wow folder symlinked just to fit 3 wow's on my 32gb SSD...

The whole wowmatrix thing is pretty sad because it is, by far, the best of these types of utilities that I've been able to find. I don't blame curse for not wanting to be a bandwidth bitch for wowmatrix, but I do wish these two groups could put all this crap aside and figure something out. Not likely to happen, though, since curse has their own client and wants to promote it.

I'm a bit surprised though how many mods still aren't available somewhere besides curse (so that wowmatrix can't get them). I would think most mod authors would want it available in the most places possible, unless curse is kicking back some cash or something?
No matter where you go, there you are.

I just have one directory per computer, and just download from curse to my main computer then copy the interface folder to the other 5 computers (after I do stuffs to the files so each guy get copied properly). So no effect to me ...

My understanding is that people don't want WoWMatrix to have it because not only does it bandwidth whore from other sites, it circumvents their potential to make money, not just Curse's via "Donate" buttons}. There was also a long-standing issue where WoWMatrix would grab mods from anywhere, not just where authors put them.

Either way, I don't use autoinstallers. I'd rather do it manually so I can run my own scans before installing crap.

WoWInterface has a Beta Installer started called Minion. Works with any author who will add tags for it in the TOC file. Slow going right now, but they have a much better attitude than Curse

you may do that but not everyone does. i think one of the issues here is that people who dont ever click ads assume everyone is that way. but some people must click them or else no one would pay to have them. and taking a file that is supposed to be supported by the ad views from a site without giving that opportunity does have the potential to hurt them. im not a scholar on the way ads work but im also not so narrow minded as to not be able to see how this could possibly be a problem.

this is true but in the first scenario the person is potentially exposed to the intended method of reimbursal. in the second scenario there is no such exposure.

but like i say about everything i could be totally wrong and if thats the case then i would really like to be enlightened

also go sign the petition lets not hijack this thing totally.

and for the record symlink ftw. update one folder and youre golden. you dont even have to symlink any other folders but the addons one. its very convenient.
