Is it that much better then 32 bit version. Also will it bog down 4gb dual core or no. Reason i ask is a guy i work with is getting a free copy unopened vista 64 and is giving it to me. So just want to know what ill see if i put that on my comp.

They say spiders have 8 legs well i guess im a rare and unimaginable specimen. Ive got 9 legs and my web comes from that 9th leg. HaHa.
Maybe it's just too soon maybe companies will have theur versions out soon but although I have much better performance with 7 I have lots of problems I haven't had before with the same machine/software. And that includes ugly weird crashes...
I've been using vista 64 for quite a while now and have had no significant problems doing so. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, but unless you have a specific need, I wouldn't upgrade just to upgrade. About the only things I'm aware of that it will buy you are the ability to use more RAM (XP 64 is junk), and MUCH better handling of D3D apps across multiple monitors [both of which are important to me].
One thing that has plague me since upgrading: About 1/3 of the time when I exit wow, it will just hang. I actually think this is a video card driver issue, but it's particular to 64 as it never did this in 32 version. It's not a big deal, just click the X, but it gets a little old.
No matter where you go, there you are.
If you can get Win7 I would go that route but either way you should go 64 if you want to use all your RAM.
I've been runing the final of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit for over a month now. Skip Vista 64 and don't look back.
