Deciding on a tank...

Running my 5 Tauren shaman atm....will run them together up till 60. Then I have to make a decision of what tank, and when to add it. I'm guessing 5 shaman for 80 heroics is no longer ideal so:

Here's my problem....

1.) I have a 70 Paladin, sitting on another server....I did like Paladin as a tank, it is still sitting w/ the preist and locks on that server. I'd have to server transfer+faction(Human to BE) switch as well as leaving my PvE team w/o their tank.

2.) I have a 62 BE DK sitting on the same server w/ the shaman. This has the least hassle in moving, same faction etc, would have to join the shaman pretty early on. Con would be dropping the 5th shaman at 60, not 70....longer to solo on it's own.

3.) I have a 45 Tauren warrior, would need an account switch and level and level that one up to 70 to hook up w/ the shaman team. I've ran my 80 priest w/ warrior tanks and am impressed w/ what they can do (or the guy was just that good w/ it.) Also, this one is the only one that fits well w/ the Guild i have (The Running of the Bulls.) since he's a tauren.

Can't decide, all have their pros and cons. Money on the transfers isn't a problem, I just don't know who would be best.
I'm leaning: Paladin>Warrior>DK

stuck with same prob except for all my tanks are lvl 1. So the thing to really decide is the time between leveling (like the 70 pali or the 62/45), does not compare whatsoever to the times you would spend with them at 80. So go with the tank that you want not what level they are.

But, as a decision, palies are the easiest to box with but or kinda boring from what ive heard (massing tank button)
Dks are harder, but provide a dps bonus to shammies
Warrior, ive never seen a multiboxer with warrior.. dunno ;0

I have a DK with my shammy team at the moment and serously once they hit 80 I am going to start leveling a pally and ditch the DK because i think it will be easier to run heriocs etc. However, I love that DK grab in pvp. Its freaking awesome when someone is trying to run away.

I started with pally tank then dropped him for dk which was awesome. then dk got nerfed had alot harder time tanking melee mobs/bosses. Switched back to pally with lesser gear and have no issues with any heroic. So id say pally all the way

I use a DK currently. If I had my time again in the current game, I would have levelled my pally from 70 to 80 instead. Pallies at the moment are the best tanks threat and survivability wise as well as being the easiest to multibox.

Saying that, when I was deciding on a tank, unholy DK had the awesome bonus of Ebon Plague for the spell damage bonus as well as having awesome survivability. What hasn't changed however is that pallies are by far the easiest tanks to create effective macros for one button tanking.

So my recommendation at this stage would be for you to use the pally considering it is also your highest lvl tank, but keep in mind, the best option at this stage, may change down the track when the game has its next "tweak" :P

Pally tanks are getting nerfed in 3.2.2 from what I gather. Not having played a pally past 4, I can't comment on that, but I personally love my DK tank (moreso pre-nerf, but still). They are spiky in their damage-taking, but with 4 shaman with 4 very short cast lesser heals, she's instantly topped off.

Thanks guys....I was leaning to the Paladin anyway because I leveled it to 70 w/ my other squad and it seems to be the overall favorite.


Just a side thought though, warrior is less preffered as a MB tanks....anyone use it in a dps slot in a mixed group...hows that work out? I can always use the warrio later when I switch the 3 locks and priest over to my new home....Can always drop ione of the 3 locks for a warrior.

Just did my server transfers and faction change (I took my entire Alliance team to Horde on the same server as my shaman.) (transfer took an hour but the faction change had the first account done before I had all 5 ordered.) Now I just have to upgrade to WoTLK on 4 accounts. My wife would have my balls if she knew how much this cost lol.

Anyway, sad camper, all my macros are gone and all my talent points were refunded.
Anyone have some suggestions on spec for a Paladin (protection), Priest (Holy id guess still best to MB) and 3 warlocks. (I did affliction but they gimped that from what I heard, thinking Dest maybe?)

I figured Id get all 5 shaman to 80 as well as my paladin priest and locks, then switch around/mix etc. 10 80's better than 5 right?
