    Default Windows 7 and X-Keys - A few issues

    Hello,

As the title suggests, since I installed Windows 7, my X-Keys no longer "passes" modified keys (using CTRL, ALT or SHIFT).

Anyone ran into the same issue and has a workaround?

    Thanking you in advance.

Is it the USB or PS/2 version you are using?

Sorry for not having specified, it's USB.
I've also obviously tried to contact ipengineering, their mail isn't valid :/

They are outstanding at customer support when I first got mine I had conflicts with a third party software. They fixed me all up.

I am running the USB X-keys with Win7 with no issues. I am not using it heavily so I will have to check if I am passing any modifiers I am sure I am.

Nothing else Hardware mode should fix you.

They have no support in Europe afaik. It can really become an expensive support to call them in the US but I'll do it as last resort.

    Thanks Fur

Please try if you don't mind to use those modifier keys.

    Thank you.

I just tried the X-keys Pro USB and Win7 and it works.

Make sure the macro is good. It should be {alt+k} (insert keydown) {alt+k} (insert keyup)
of course the (insert) portion is not literal but a reference to the Insert command in the menu.

Type "cheap calling to America" in your own language on eBay or US dump numbers etc. should get you some cheap ways to call to the US. It costs me less to call to the US that way than local :P

While some of my support was over the phone most of it was over email.

    Hi everybody,

My name is Rocco and I'm a tech with P.I. Engineering. Right now we are working on Windows 7 support with a new version of MacroWorks. We hope to have something ready in the next couple of months. For now I would recommend using our hardware mode programming option: http://www.piengineering.com/software/hardware.mode.php.

Please note this will depend on the type of firmware you have. If you flip your X-key over and it says “SE” on the back you will need access to a Windows XP to do the initial programming then you can move the X-key to Windows 7.

If it says “MWII” on the back you can use the X-keys Hardware Mode Programming Utility on Windows 7 but be sure to follow the directions in grey on the link above.

If you have any problems you can contact me at tech@xkeys.com
