Default Keymaps in EQ2 have to be character specific?

In setting up keymaps I've noticed that setting an action to a character slot rather than an actual character is not working. I've tried this both ways. The mapped key action works fine when I give it a specific character as a target, but nothing happens if I set it up to send to a character slot. Is there something else I should be doing that I'm not?

    Hey Lyssia,

I'd honestly love to help but I am confused by your question:
...setting an action to a character slot rather than an actual character is not working.
    - Pardon? Give an example please

...but nothing happens if I set it up to send to a character slot.
    - Same again - huh?

Just guessing - but do you mean something along the lines of arming a weapon or something no matter the char?

If you are talking about generalised EQ2 keymaps, then I would highly recommend you read the section titled 'A more accurate approach in Quick Guide to saving and loading your EverQuest II User Interface Settings - these keymaps are generalised, and as such, are not character specific

Okay.... Guess I should have specified that I was referring to Innerspace keymapping, not in-game hotkeys.

Innerspace allows you to send keystrokes to A) a character slot (i.e., character slot 1, character slot 2, etc.) or to B) a specific character (i.e., Lyssia, Xiane, etc.)

When I set a keystroke to be sent to the character it works fine. If I try to send it to the character slot it doesn't work. This is the only change I have made in the keymap - everything else is the same in both instances. I just don't understand why in EQ2 sending a keystroke to a slot isn't working.

I'm at work and don't have ISBoxer to refer to, but I'm quite sure you are setting things up incorrectly in ISBoxer.

I have Keymaps set to Slots in the Character Set just fine. I'm sure it is just a matter of something in ISBoxer not being dragged where it is supposed to go (you know how you need to drag objects into the categories and such).

If you are unable to determine what the problem is, I'll take another look later tonight, when I'm able to.
