Use Jamba Strobing addon. Every second (or whatever you set it to) it spams follow on to the master. This is great when swiming, getting feared, flying, tight dungeon crawls, and other uses i probably cant think of right now.

of course used in conjunction with

    /follow focus, /follow {FTL}, or just /follow Smith

    Turn on Jamba Strobing
    /jamba-follow strobeonme all

    Turn off Jamba Strobing
    /jamba-follow strobeoff all

    download it here

If you have a class with a talent that increases their run speed or mount speed then dont use them to lead. If all your group has that talent, it shouldnt be an issue. I can barely tell the difference between crusader aura and the ret talent +15% mount + run speed. I rarely, if ever, lose follow with leader having crusader aura on. Now that I upgraded to a beast computer even my shaman dont lose it too often(maybe once every 5 mins.)
