Thread: Setup woes

    Default Setup woes

    I recently switched from this:

    F:\World of Warcraft
    F:\Wow0
    F:\Wow1
    F:\Wow2
    F:\Wow3
    F:\Wow4

    Wow0-4 symlinked to the /data /cache /interface folders of F:\World of Warcraft.

    To:

    F:\World of Warcraft

No symlinking, all using one folder. I switched because patch days were killing me. For some reason I couldn't update the main folder without it crapping out. Eventually I got a corrupted patch which dc'ed every 5 minutes.

I like my new setup. It's fast enough and all but I keep losing macros and keybindings. I log into the same accounts and the addon info is all there but it keeps overwriting what I have for macros. I started with totally fresh WTF and WDB folders. Nothing in them. Then I backed up my correct macros with the backup script but it still nukes my macros and keybinds. Any suggestions? I'm running Keyclone atm. I tried out IS Boxer for the Virtual config feature but ended up screwing everything else up, lol. I'm convinced ISBoxer is built for FTL, all else be danged.

The Wizard is certainly geared towards FTL but ISBoxer is very configuration rich. It looks intimidating but makes sense pretty quickly. I am a big fan of both ISBoxer and Keyclone you can not go wrong with either one.

Have you tried MyBinding I am not sure if that mod is still developed it had some good character specific bind options.

I use ISBoxer but don't use FTL. If you *don't* use FTL, it just takes a few more minutes to setup. (since the fastest setup is the wizard which runs FTL)

I am also noticing click to move is unchecked sometimes.

For macro's - there's a place to select toon specific macros. This seems to set if for that toon only and they aren't saved to the general folder (where they can get easily overwritten). Not sure if that will help though.

This sounds like a trojan that I read about on the WoW forums. Resetting peoples addons and macros. Check the technical support forum for the remedy.

It reverts their macros, even character specific ones, back to about 4 months ago
