Default Crusader aura in BG's - I hate it.

Crusader aura is the bane of my life at the moment.
The BG starts and all of us thunder off, and I find follow breaking as I lose crusader aura off at least one of the shaman.
If i notice quickly enough it's a short run to pick them up, but sometimes I've run far enough away that by the time I get back some pesky rogues had his way with my shammy.

Can't even click the damn aura off.

Now I've started grouping my guys and trying to wait while the main rush has moved on and then follow up behind, but it means I can be a bit late to the party, or can be more likely to be picked off on the field of strife.

Does anyone else struggle with this? Has anyone else experienced this and found a better solution?

i have the same exact issue, i usually wait 5 seconds while everyone rages out of the starting gate. I've thought about taking a curve left and heading up the hill towards that bunker and then jumping down and only being slightly behind enough to not look like fresh meat.

Just switch leadership to a character that doesn't have the aura or use a slower mount for your leader.

Thank goodness it's not just me

I never saw it mentioned before so thought perhaps I was doing something wrong.

(especially when someone said "You suck. You left one of your guys behind").
didn't want to give multiboxers a bad name

Yeah on my Prot Pally I have 2 specs exactly for this reason. One without Pursuit of Justice and one with so that in Dungeons I dont have to stop and wait for my Shamans to catch up.

I'm about to start levelling a little in AV to see if Alliance actually win anything to make it worth while - waiting a few seconds at the starting gate for all the Paladins to charge off seems like a plan.

Ive found what works best is to run with the main group, but when crusader aura is up - pause your leader for half a second every 200 yards or so. If anyone is starting to lag behind this gives them a chance to catch up. I do the same thing when I'm flying through potentially laggy areas.

It sounds like you're not using Jamba, which alerts you the moment a slave breaks follow. You should be able to immediately know your follow status and have a warning go off if someone gets hung-up somewhere.

I usually get away from this if I am behind the slaves and I race through them, they all turn and they come with. But if we drag race together they seem to rubber band and that is when the snap occurs.
