Default New BG fun team, votes

So I am playing my shaman team fulltime, never had any other team besides them and now I'd like to make another team just to cut the boredom of the shamans.

I will mostly do BG with them (AV, WG, IoC). My shamans will still be number 1 so I dont need to do instances with them.

    My thougts:

4x Hunter = Seems fun with 4 pets and pewpew from distance, traps etc.
4x Priest = The ability to heal and fearward = pro. Dots and damage is fine aswell, I guess.
4x Druid = Seems to be the best imo, nice dots and attacks, stealth!!!, healing, only disadv is that it has no fear ward whatsoever (except for the trinket then)
4x Mage = Just damage....no healing, no fear ward, no stealth

    And now......give me your votes!

Same issue here... and I actually went with 4x Aff Locks. Hit 65 on them this weekend (2 weeks old with no RAF). THEY ARE AMAZING in bgs. They have so much synergy and flow that I never predicted when theorycrafting / planning them out before I rolled. And by the way people, you don't know how satisfying affliction DOTs are until you cast them in pvp. No cast time, No "facing your target" requirements etc. Just tab, DOT, tab, DOT, tab, DOT lol... so satisfying.

My honest opinion is once you remove the healing / fear protection of a shaman... and start looking at non hybrid pure dps classes to box in pvp... nothing tops locks. I would give it some thought before rolling hunters (which I did and I dont enjoy that much... hunters suffer SO MUCH from close encounters / melee) You will be so sick of dealing with melee after 1 day that you wont play the hunters again. Mages.. meh I dont see the advantage here at all. If I'm going to play a caster class whose spells arent instant and all require casting... I'll just play my shamans... the play style is so similar anyway it wouldn't be that refreshing.

    Thanks for the opinion there.

I wanted to add locks to the poll but forgot :P After I had written the post I dropped mages pretty fast cause they cant do anything except pewpew hard and die hard :P I will replace 4x mage with 4x lock.

I'd suggest druids for the stealth, healing, decent survivability though low burst damage, treant army, and most importantly TYPHOON.

Hehe, I actually have 4 80 hunters that i use with a druid healer in bg's. They are fresh 80 and not geared at all. I also have 5 shaman but the whole face the target and casting thing def sucks. I am finishing 5 80 mages within the week and i'll let you know. I've been bg'ing the 4 mages (ones already 80) all week in AV and it's really tough with 7k hp and lvl 72 greens to compete. I found that Living Bomb is AMAZING, no direction, instant cast, aoe bombs. Once these guys are 80 I bet i could wipe like 30 allies in about 5 casts. I planned on using the mage stealth to wipe them at galv and drek, but their aoe barely gets everyone to half health if i'm lucky. i stealth, run in and unleash hell, but hell's still weak with 500 spell damage lol. I don't cast much, mostly just living bomb, fire blast, blast wave, dragon breath, aoe freeze and run lol. If it's just one, i'll sheep and pyroblast them.

Anyways, I've also got 3 lvl 80 druids and i'm about to finish my 80 rogue, i'm gonna try that combo since i think it actually has the most potential. I just gotta figure out if i want them balance or feral... tough call.

Overall, all of them do okay but the warrior whirlwind thing and rogue fan of knives tear my ass up.

I'd vote druids or locks or even priests.

Getting aoe melee off you is the biggest problem i've found really, I think having 5 fears is the way to go

Now that all my guys have 700+ resil I find that I can survive a warrior's bladestorm and a rogues FoK somewhat easily (as long as I'm in moonkin form). I just pop barkskin, do my spread macro, and then nuke away. I'm not saying they don't hurt, I'm just saying that I can survive it much easier than when I didn't have much PvP gear.

it's not too bad if your near a gy, but when your team gets split between north and south AV, that really sucks. My group died within 10 yards of each other once but across the boundary and half rezzed at a diff gy lol.

I do tend to lose a mage or 2 every few fights. Not being able to rez can be a PITA at times. Specially open world pvp.
I need to get engineering and get jumpercables for my guys.

Hey Owltoid, have you ever tried going feral for pvp? With the new "interact with target" I'm thinking you can spam your specials and the interact with target and actually do melee. The idea of being able to do 5 kitty ambushes at once just sounds fantastic.
