Got "less rabi" on the first real try (previous try I fat-fingered it ) thanks to some of the advice here and on the wowhead forums. Basically, it came down to Improved Counterspell, which I just happened to have available to me since I recently swapped my mage main in for a shaman.

I started off kinda slow so that I'd get the first interrupt right before 50%. Interrupted that with wind shear and then proceeded to the 50% interrupt, also with windshear. At this point I just waited for the 5s until the next cast. IOW, I did very little damage to him (he might have been at 45%) so that the cast would be easy to interrupt. At about 4 seconds (1 sec before cast), I blew all my cooldowns, interrupted the cast with Imp. CS, and killed him before he could cast again (you have about 10s).

It would have been much harder without Imp CS, so I guess the best idea would be to try to time the interrupt. <20% health casts are almost instant, don't think you can react with internet lag.
No matter where you go, there you are.

TBH I find 2 ruby + 3 emerald a lot trickier than 5 amber. Are there any tips other than the linked thread?

3 ruby 2 emerald will pack a bit more punch, 4 ruby with taunt/immune on round robin with 1emerald for heals was my favorite lineup outside of 5 amber.

I was never comfortable with the 3 healer / 2 dps split.

I'll give it a shot with 4 ruby + 1 emerald - what's your setup/rotation? Any special macros? I find it ironic that "Make it count" was easier than amber void :P

They're making the Oculus easier, too. Increasing the cooldowns monsters/bosses have on certain moves, as well as increasing the bonus your drakes receive from gear. So hopefully this stuff will be easier to obtain.

I still need to gear up a tank before I even attempt it, but that won't be for awhile, as I want to do it with a Paly tank, I guess, and I'm going to get my remaining teams up to 60 first, and palies to 80.

I run the healer drake as my "main" so I can health funnel as needed quickly.

    special setup:
for the Rubies you want to setup your nuke key or targeting macro so that it targets whelps first than Eregos since their beams hit harder after each jump.

Basically its very similar to the 5x amber strat:

    1. optionally open up with the emerald's dmg reduction thingy with the emerald; start nuking with the rubies and spamming poison with the emerald
    2. as soon as the first set of whelps pop out hit taunt on *1* of your rubies followed by evasion as soon as hes got enough charges. I tend to also to mash evasion on the others to help mitigate splash dmg from the arcane stuff.
    3. keep mashing nuke button!
    4. rinse-repeat cycling through your taunts.

I'd say: think of taunt/evasion as equivalent to timestop rotation and I think you'll be set, the emerald is just there to provide the dmg reduction and occasional spot healing as needed (but its difficult to funnel and do the dmg reduction both).

Ok, in the process of testing at the moment. One question though - if one drake has cast Martyr (directing all spells to himself), what use is casting evasive on all the others, since they shouldn't be attacked? Is there any reason not to keep evasive up all the time?

You're right keep it up as much as ya can - poorly worded on my part.

I should note that I didn't actually setup a martyr "rotation" so much as just clicking it on the highest-health drake as needed.

Great thanks :-) One more question - how did you handle the healing? I tried with a [nochanneling] macro, but it doesn't seem to register dream funnel as a channeled spell, because leech will break it with or without the [nochanneling]?
