Glory of the Hero - Red Proto Completed

Hey everyone,

Been playing off and on over the past few months. Been busy with the company, but finally got around to finsihing Glory of the Hero for the red proto drake. If anyone needs any tips let me know. I did all of the achivements solo (as I am sure others have, no biggie) so if you need a tip let me know. The toughest ones for me were the timed Oculus, Less Rabi (kept killing him as he changed) and the two in Ahn'Kahet, but I managed to get them all done with some luck.

Just for the info none of these characters have been in a 25+ raid. It's all heroic and badge gear from the new instances.

How did you do the "Watch Him Die" and Elder Nadox achievement?

Watch Him Die:
I did it pretty easy with a DK tank, only playing 4 shamans, tho .. I placed my totems with 4xearth elementals at the "road" to the entrance portal. Then I moved away from my totems, had my DK summon Army of Dead, pull all 3 packs+the boss, at that point he ran as fast as possible towards the instance portal.. Then I popped BL and NUKED the boss, got him down and wiped.

Personally I did this before the "pull away tactic" nerf. It seems very hard now, but there might be some good tactics

Nerf? I did this solo in 3.1, Just tanking them in different rooms

How did you do the "Watch Him Die" and Elder Nadox achievement?

For "Watch Him Die" this is what I did.

1. I have a Druid on the team so I got a dual spec and made him a tank.
2. I placed the other 4 guys to the far right as you enter the area with the bosses, but made them face the entrance area.
3. I put the Druid at max range so I could target the boss. Then I turned him around and used Faerie Fire on the boss and ran in Cat form to the entrance.
4. Everyone followed the cat and as they were almost out of range I used the Pally solo taunt to get the boss on me.
5. I also had a Earthbind Totem down to slow the watchers down.
6. Then I changed to bear form and hit Frenzied Refeneration.
7. With all buffs, Heroism, food and Frost Wyrm going I downed the boss by himself. Took me a few trys, but I had him down the last time right as the rest entered the room.

Forgot to add the Druid was stealthed in cat form so I could get close enough to FF the boss.

The Druid could tank and stay alive long enough so I could down him.

"Eldor Nadox"
1. I placed the Shaman by the boss.
2. I ran the other four down the stairs and far away from him.
3. I pulled the boss with the pally shield and ran to the other 4.
4. After he was well by the Shaman I popped the Earth Elemental to tank the Guardians.
5. Shaman was able to hold them all until I could get the boss down. Again, using all buffs, food and Heorism.

Once I tried it this way I think I got him on the first try. These two were some of the harder ones for sure. The Oculus ones took some time to learn also, but now I think Oculus is fairly easy believe it or not.

Thanks that does help, I guess I can have one shaman run to entrance on "watch him die" maybe with a swiftness potion.

Didnt even think of earth elementals for Elder Nadox. Nice!

I'm having an impossible time doing Brann's event - I've gotten the achievement on all my toons by playng them in pugs, but I still need to 5-box Brann so I can do Abuse the ooze on the end boss. I've tried all the tips on the forums here, but I still get overwhelmed.

I'm having an impossible time doing Brann's event - I've gotten the achievement on all my toons by playng them in pugs, but I still need to 5-box Brann so I can do Abuse the ooze on the end boss. I've tried all the tips on the forums here, but I still get overwhelmed.

It's been a while since I did this one, but what worked for me is as follows:

1. Put your pally at the bottom of the stairs. Make sure your consecrate gets all of the mobs on the left and right as they come down.
2. The first part is fairly easy. It only gets tough at the end when the beam is coming down and there are a bunch of mobs running around so save all of your cooldowns, pets and heroism for this part.
3. Make sure you have a strafe key setup so you can get out of the beam as soon as it hits so you don't lose a guy.
4. Do everything you can with taunts, consecrate, etc. to keep everyone on the pally. Save LOH, Divine Protection and everything else until the very end. It's only the last 20 seconds or so that get really tough. Save everything for that moment.
5. Keep your guys spread out so the beam only hits one of you. Also, if you strafe the group make sure to stagger your guys so as one moves out of the beam another does not move into it.
6. You can heal Brann by the way. Not sure if you knew this, but you could make a quick macro to give him a heal or two at the end so you can make it through.

If you make sure the pally is on the stairs that is half the battle.

How did you do the "Watch Him Die" and Elder Nadox achievement?

I got that today accidentally, I pressed follow on my team and one shaman just started running forward, so he range aggroed him. I just nuked the boss(this is where gear comes into play) and then killed all the rest, 2 shamans and my lock were dead in the end, and my paladin barely survived.
I think it would be much easier if i was prepared for it, so maybe nuking him down ignoring the ads will work for more people?
