My team hit 68 over the weekend; since 3/5 are new RaF accounts they are still sparkling new Battlechest box sets.

My primary account is not flush with gold; less then 2,000 now as I put out a good bit of coin purchasing 4(x) flyers, the slow ones for BC. This brings up a burning question. Do I push on to Northrend, since 3 of the team cannot fly until 77 due to the restrictions, or should I push them to 70, and then hit all the dailies in BC to purchase their epic flyers?

On one hand, having the epic birds already in their respective cages makes the 77-80 trek much easier, as raising an additional 1K for cold weather flying is pretty easy just doing quests. Yet, on the other hand, the new 150% flyers are not nearly as painful as the old 60% were; the girls could use them through 80 and then raise the coin for the epic fliers at that time.

Get to 71, enter AV, level to 80 extremely quickly, THEN worry about gold.

wait... i haven't had my 80 accounts active since the last patch, been working on a new 5 man team on new accounts, is AV xp really a good way to level now?

For 71-80, AV is the only way to level. I started 68 in AV and the xp sucked ... soon as I hit 71, it was WAY more. I did 71-80 in a week ... few hours a night. Getting a third team of 5 to 80 now. If you win 80% games, you'll do it faster. It's WAY faster than questing. Everyone is talking about an incoming nerf to AV xp this tuesday b/c it's so good (but haven't seen a blue post on it yet).

That thought had never even crossed my mind….considering that with the new experience for doing battlegrounds…and the fact that once you cap out at 80 all quests yield double gold rewards…This does seem like a FANTASTIC idea.

Couple of additional questions…what are the odds that your team will not get the same AV? What seems to be the average time for an AV? And lastly what do folks figure as a percentage per AV? I know at best winning is 50/50 depending on battlegroup.

Thanks…I like the idea of mixing in AV as the primary source of leveling with questing in between games.

You can queue as a team of up to 5. Queue times depend on your faction and battlegroup, but I never have to wait more than 1 minute to get my 5 moonkins in. Forget about your toons being in the same party inside the raid... learn to deal without it because the liklihood of the BG leader listening and responding to your request to move them together is very low.

Honestly, it's up to you. I don't see the pressing need for epic flyers. Sure, you can travel faster, and bypass flight paths, etc etc, but with my pally aura, and the new 150% speed, I am happy as can be.

I still have normal flyers because I took a break after flying from different flight points for my dailies. The practical reason to get one for me if I'm going to do gathering professions. Though if you're multiboxing, farming dailies then buy your mats is faster than doing gathering professions.
