    Default DK primarily as casters

Has anyone here tried an icy touch spec unholy DK group before?

Something along the lines of this spec:

The basic idea is to use Icy Touch and Death Coil as your main nukes, Ghouls for damage/stun/ and healing by sacrificing.

I believe this will be nerfed hard by blizzard, they do not like DKs standing back and being casters.

Wondering how effective the ranged dps with stacked icy touches, deathcoils, and ghouls would be, along with sitting inside round robin anti-magic zones while you round robin death-grip people to you.

Sounds great on paper, probably not that great. And also, Icy Touch spec isnt new, it was good in 3.0 - and was nerfed hard.

Didn't say it was a new spec. I've used it before when the first unholy nerf came out, solo on my alt dk, but I've been gone for 4 months and was thinking about it for multiboxing. How was it nerfed? What exactly did they do to it?

Your also forgetting that the rune tap glyphed is the best ability we have as DKs and without the emergency heal all it takes is someone to focus for a second on one toon before you get killed. sacrificing won't cut it I don't imagine.

    healing > all in multiboxing.

Pretty much this. Glyphed rune tap is almost a full heal every 30 secs if everyone in your party has it...hard to live without it in PvP

Stacked rune taps? Didn't think of that. Quite appealing tbqh.

Trying to find a way to live without 18 points in shadowfrost. Though blood tap, death rune mastery, bladed armor, and butchery will possibly make up for the loss. Butchery will help compensate for the loss of runic power generated by chill to the grave. Death rune mastery combined with Reaping will allow me to prep 6 icy touch spam x 5 and be able to deathstrike more freely.

The only really painful loss is Glacier Rot, but with the extra death runes and huge AP boost the loss isn't so bad with this spec when you're boxing 5. Hopefully the runic power generated by Chill to the grave i'll be losing isn't that bad.
