That's what I do Cat. Only resets on combat or a new target. Works quite well.

I did have to adjust my conflag/chaos bolt though to reset only on combat/XX with xx being the cooldown. I did have it set for combat/target, but my macros would hang on trash when the targets switch fast and conflag/chaos bolt is still on cd.
