Thread: Xkeys Issues.

    Question Xkeys Issues.

I have an old school Xkeys Pro USB. I use it fine for single client wow and even for hotkeynet. I recently purchases a subscription for Innerspace to use the ISBoxer toolkit. The instant pip switching is SICK!. Anyhow, I am unable to get my xkeys to work. When I try to bind a key to anything I get the error...

"This box will detect any Keyboard of Mouse buttons. If you want to assign a non-standard button (example: X-Keys buttons, Logitech G-keys, Nostomo n52 buttons, etc) that are not set to perform a keystroke, you will need to select the button from the drop-down box instead"

Heres the issue... I don't have any xkeys buttons to choose from in the drop down menu. I am seeing my G-15s "Gkeys" just fine, but not any of my xkeys.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

I had to load the developer patches for my X-Key Pro to be seen.

The "This box will detect" thing is a tooltip explaining the box, not an error. It's supposed to reduce confusion by informing you that if you push a button your X-Keys device, the X-Keys button will not automatically be filled out for you in the form -- you would have to manually select it.

And since it's not available for manual selection, here is some help for you and anyone else who has issues with their input devices + ISBoxer:

    1. You don't NEED to assign the X-Keys or other devices through ISBoxer, but it's certainly convenient and recommended. If your device doesn't show up, you can always run the device's software as Administrator (applies only to Vista or later) and make the device press obscure combinations like ctrl+shift+alt+q, and then use that as a Hotkey in ISBoxer, or even just use it the "old fashioned way" and it'll work like it always did (you just need to run it as Administrator). Note that when it is actually detected and used directly through ISBoxer, you do not need to run it as Administrator, and do not need to have the device's software active.

    2. I recently fixed an issue specifically with X-Keys devices not being detected by Inner Space, with the fix being in the current development build of Inner Space (Build 5039). You can switch to that to be able to assign them through ISBoxer. If you're already using Build 5039 (this is more for people who search and find this thread weeks or months from now), then you do not need to switch to anything, continue reading. If it doesn't work with the development build of IS, please visit this thread http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=22006 and get me the requested information
