Thread: new one here!

  1. #1

    Default new one here!

    I am just starting up and thinking of going with the following setup for my group. I guess it will not be the easiest set up but I can see it working pretty well.
    Prot Pala
    Resto Druid
    Ele Shammy
    Fire Mage
    Destruction Warlock

    The Elemental Shaman could probably be another mage and it would work slightly better/easier with only needing to summon half the water per mage. However, this way I will have 5 different classes to own with and a pretty balanced group in my opinion.

    howdy oldin and welcome to the forums

    having more then 1 class is usually where the complexity comes in. most people start with 1 class, multiple clones and go from there.

    having 5 different classes would probably be the toughest.

    as you progress, please drop pics of your group with a few notes on how its working out. i'm sure its going to be very interesting.

    When I first started I viewed 5 diff classes as the holy grail but I chickened out. I also like your setup alot in terms of loot coverage. You only have 2 clothies, and you will put both leather and mail drops to use.

    But yes, it's gonna be a headache getting macros with good overlap, but not impossible.

    If you can survive the -slow- early going where you have to learn alot about macros and add-ons, I don't think you'll have any problems.

    Im new and all but I was thinking about this.

    Have few use 1to0 keys for there main bar and other use Ctrl 1to0. You still left with Shift if you like using 2 bars for stuff like buffs eat drink Res macro invite maco stuff like that. You always have Alt also if you needed a 3rd.

    one trick that will probably help a lot when using different classes would be keymaps. then, instead of a single key to a single action, it changes to a single key to a TYPE of action.

    ie:
    on your main, you have this keymap:
    3 --> opening.salvo

    and on your clones, you would have a different mapping for opening.slavo depending on the class

    mage:
    opening.salvo --> 3 (fireball)

    priest:
    opening.salvo --> 2 (smite)

    warrior:
    opening.salvo --> 5 (charge)

    when you start thinking like this, it changes how you approach your key layouts. each class would have a normal key layout, and you would only be using keymaps for passing all keys.

    keymaps are a bit more advanced... but i don't think you're the type to shy from tougher challenges, considering your first choice in a boxing group
