Personally a lot of it sounds exciting to me. As much as I hate phasing for boxing it does bring great opportunities to the game. Always hated how you do something that changes stuff in the game but come back and it's like it never happened. Honestly wish they left the lvl cap at 80 though. Then they could of went with something like AA in EQ. Sort of sounds like they do have something like this in the new expansion though. Bumping the lvl's does nothing but make old content useless. Imagine if they left the lvl cap at 60 or even 70 and how much raid content there would be. Some of it old yes but still there for a purpose.
I played the old world. Since day 1.
I was a little disappointed when Naxx came out, because we finished that, at lvl 60 and it really didn't change, at all. I understand that most of the community wasn't able to do that, so that's fine.
This expansion in no respect warrants the same excitement we had about BC or WotLK is all I'm saying. Remember when you saw the first BlizzCon photos and leaked info on these xpacs? I was excited, like a little girl on xmas. Now, I am seeing a disappointing add-on to a game and not a true expansion. I hope there is more info to come, because so far I feel underwhelmed.
So how will they handle the phasing for the world changes with regards to going back to do low-level quests for faction with capital cities or nostalgia items? An interesting theory. (And yeah, I know you can turn in shitloads of cloth or do BGs or <insert alternate faction method here>. Not my point. Thanks for playing. Please drive through.)
Now playing: WoW (Garona)
You know I got to thinking about this. Going back to the old stuff is pretty smart of blizzard. Look at a zone like the barrens. It's a HUGE zone and there's what maybe 10 people in it and 5 of them are me =p. By changing zone's like barrens they are basically cutting the fat so to speak. You don't need that huge zone for 10 people. So cut it in half and make the other half high lvl and now it's not just sitting there anymore.
Not entirely sure how they handle servers but I'm pretty sure BC and Wotlk are on there own servers. So basically they are running all that hardware for zones that really never get used.
