Not sure if this is a tip but...

If you are running with Hunters give your pets identical names, this makes it much easier to track threat as the threat meters don't distinguish between the pet by anything but name. (Known to work with Omen / Threat 1.0)

It also means that some (or all) SCT addons show you pet damage for all pets too.
