    Hi Farleito,

    Appreciate some clarification please

Read through your guide (very comprehensive, well thought out and some great info re RoM - gratz) and came across your embedded linky 'http://tinyurl.com/i-am-legit' - in this external link the game master makes the comment:
But as stated previously if you are found running a scripted Multi-client, then it is considered botting
Just to clarify (for myself mainly - [Source of quote]):
A multi-client uses several computers in parallel. Thus a multi-client is a person that accesses the Internet with several computers
Therefore, if I am reading correctly, a hardware / vetra boxer (i.e., such as 6 PC / hardware / vetra boxer like myself) will be breaking the ToS as I am a multi-client boxer as opposed to say a boxer with multiple copies of the game installed on the single PC??

So I take it that, even though I won't be scripting beyond the /follow, /assist, etc., being multi-client, I might as well forget dloading the game as I will be banned if caught?

    Thanks,

    n0x

My interpretation of what is meant by "scripted clients"...

Since this game (Runes of Magic) does not have any limitations as to what you can or can not do with the in-game scripting system, people are running with multiple characters, where the following character is doing nothing but monitoring the main. If the main needs a heal, it will heal. If the main is attacking, it will attack too. Completely automated. I believe this is what they are talking about. If you read the other link I posted http://tinyurl.com/is-not-a-bot, you will see another RoM representative saying "Multi-boxing is allowed! Botting is NOT allowed!".

Put it this way... I've been playing the game for over 3 months now and I've been reported over 500 times. Just recently, the GMs banned a LOT of people for all kinds of ToS issues. I'm still around.

    Edit:

To add to this... I was recently reported on the RoM forums, where another player posted 4 screen shots of me in action. A GM had removed the screen shots and said "We do not bash other players on the forums. If you have a problem, you need to issue a ticket."...and /closed the thread.

    Thanks for the reply Farleito

I did read both links - plus a whole herd of posts after doing a RoM forum search - tbth, there is a huge amount of conflicting comments from both the players AND the GMs - which is why I asked - bit surprised tbh with some of the GMs comments...not exactly mature sometimes

Seems to be a whole lot of mboxing hate - no matter

Dloaded and just playing the 1 char atm to get a feel for what is what - got a paladin to 12 so seems ok

I take it that if I wanted to start up 5 more chars I need a different email account per char? (seemed to have a problem when I just entered the same account each time)

    Ta

The ROM community as a whole is somewhat immature, u'll automaticly be called bot and screamed at for cheating..however I've also been boxing in ROM for over a month without issue. Aside from being a giant pvp target thats about as bad as it gets for me. Just ignore the jerks and keep having fun is what I do.

Octopus works with Runes of Magic. It's best to use Windowed mode and there shouldn't be any issues, at least none that I've found. If using full screen and KVM, the mouse may get stuck on one of the windows. So it's best to use windowed mode to avoid that issue. Other than that, I've found Octopus works nicely just as it does with WoW.

That's wonderful...but did you read the entire thread? Multiboxing is against the ToS.

Oh that's great so you're going to continue to multibox Runes of Magic after three months even though it is against the Terms of Service?

Definitive answer on multiboxing Runes of Magic from the Director, not a GM of Frogster:

What are you talking about? I'm not multiboxing.

I read that comment from the game director when it was on the top of the RoM forums. I follow the rules of the ToS, not what somebody said on the forums. Navibo is not the person who would be banning you anyways.

    As the ToS clearly states:
You shall not access the System or play the Game concurrently on different computers and/or game platforms.
Read the e-mail from when I was banned:
    http://www.dual-boxing.com/showpost....88&postcount=4

    US RoM Support says:
Informing players how to multi-box using "Keyclone" is not allowed since the ToS states that multi-boxing is no longer allowed.

If you want to risk your account, go for it. Please don't try to convince others that it is okay. I've lost 2 accounts already. You will get caught and you will get banned.

They will not engage in a conversation about multiboxing. You will not be given a chance to point them to a post on their own forum. Notice how there are very little dicussions on the forums about multi-boxing? Even if you can find them, the threads are closed. They deleted a lot of threads and banned a lot of people for trying to engage in a conversation.

    Default Now aloud

In the current ToS it says you can run up to 5 accounts at one time... so multiboxxing is aloud so long as its 5 max
