Thread: Druid Healing

  1. #1

    Default Druid Healing

hello all. Noobie here -searched and searched and i could not find anything on my particular question: mouse over macros.

I currently heal with mouse overs - if i am to dual box 2 resto druids is this possible or will i have to always have a target to cast on?

I am thinking that i cannot due to the very nature of the dual boxing, but i'm hoping you experts have the answer on how to do it or some great work around suggestions.

    thanks in advanced!

You suspect correctly. Mouseover won't pass to other computers.

I've seen Zanthor post something along the lines of Open RDX in conjunction with mouse broadcasting.

When you click on a given area of the masters screen, it sends a command to the slaves screen.

    Do a forum search maybe.

you can... control your healer directly, as if it were the main. i've tried this before. its fun. yea the tank would be the slave. this doesnt work very well however.

my other suggestion is that i used to have my healthbars on my healer's window cover most of his window. this allowed me to scroll my mouse over to my slave's window for retardedly easy mouseover healing while my tank goes on auto macro mode for a minute. then switch back when my tank has more stuff to do. again, this doesnt work very well either.

Not to nitpick too much, but this is old and bad information. Before they implemented "Interact with Target" keybinds, your statement was 100% correct. Since then, it's stupid easy to keep your tank on the mob even after fears, knockbacks, MCs, whatever. My paladin group has my prot pally on an alt account, with her "/follow focus" macro set to not even fire when in combat (unless I press ALT). She relies almost completely on Interact to peel things if needed or reaquire the boss after a silly event. I didn't think it'd work that great but I'm very surprised at how effective it has been. I have more trouble with ret pallies all being in melee range of whirlwind/stomp/poison/dark smash than the tank being able to control the boss. :P

    back to mouse healing:

I personaly use this for all my group heals with my restro-druid.

I'll do so, by using a combination of Grid, Hotkeynet and Clique.

To make it work, I did the following:

    - Install Grid and customized it, so that it sorts my Toons after their name (so that the order is the same on all my acounts), and position it at the exact same point on all my accounts.

    - With HotkeyNet I added a Mousebroadcast for the specific Grid-Region to my healer (If you want to know how exactly to do this, say so)

    - On my healer I use Clique to configure waht happens when I broadcast the left/right/middle -click.

Wouldn't you be able to use mousovers with ISboxer/Innerspace mouse broadcasting?

Thanks for the replies guys. Let me do some research on the key broadcasting then...i'll be back.

Wow....just a few minutes looking at isboxer and my head exploded. I, unfortunately, am not a techie...whatsoever...it seems for what i want to do it is very complicated and maybe sticking to target healing until i can read up on even the basics of what these programs do will be the road i have to travel.

The plan was to roll 2 resto druids in a raid environment with losing as little utility as possibly - that is with my mouseover being so simple to hot the raid.

    Thanks!

@ everyone talking about healing your own team

He is asking how to MB with two RESTO druids. He probably wants to be able to heal a 10-man by himself (or something like that).

    Anyway......
Not to be a shill... but check out GameCommanderPro. It is what I have been using and it is GREAT. It auto-senses where your mouse is on your screen... so whichever window you are moused over is your active window.

You "can" change the view to swap mains (stupid-easy to set up BTW)... but if you just want to mouseover macro... have it hot-keyed, mouse over... bump the macro, and mouse back to your main. It really is a GREAT program. They have a free trial on their site, and the support-response if FANTASTIC.
