nice setup u got there. gives me ideas too, as far as the audio switch, check out newegg.com and type in audio switch then choose one according to your preference.

if your monitors support hdmi cables, then i'd suggest getting one that has hdmi support on it as well. the xbox 360s that have the hdmi output on them do not transmit sound thru the hdmi cables, you have to have the audio connector for that running from the box to a sound system. not sure about the ps3 cause i don't have one yet. newegg also sales some pretty good hdmi cables too. i'd go with kingwin as the brand. cheap and reliable. the 'gold plated' ones don't make any noticable difference for the human eye to distinguise, so don't waist the extra money on them.

While the normal 360s do not support HDMI at all to my knowledge with out some kind of adapter. The black elites do audio and video through the HDMI port just fine. Same for the PS3, one HDMI for both.

Of note, the PS3 will do fine on its side like that, you are leaving the heat on the hot part of the PS3.. The 360 however is known for heating problems and unfortunately when stood on its side like that, it vents the heat of the CPU/GPUs over all the rest of the hardware.. including the harddrive and such that is usually on the top. Just a word of caution that a shelf might be better for a horizontal 360
