Sharing an N52?

I'm thinking about picking up one of the new N52 controllers in January, and have a question about its use: if I'm using Synergy to control multiple computers via key broadcasting, will my N52 commands be broadcast to the connected computers just as my normal keystrokes are? Do I need the N52 software to be installed on all computers for this to work?

From recollection you don't need the software on the other machines as they get a key press sent to them, rather than a code for a key...

But that does mean that any extra stuff like shift states don't work. (I mean the ones built into the n52/software, not shift, ctrl, alt etc).

If you just want to use it as a more convenient keyboard replacement it'll work fine.
