    Default New PC suggestion

I'm looking into getting a new PC for 5 boxing, that will handle framerates well, possibly from buyxg.com.

I've got about 1500 to spend. I want to do it on ONE system with ONE monitor. I had a previous 9800 gt, 3.0 quad core, 8gb ram system on a 22" monitor but found I'd get lag in my off windows.

    Your suggestions are appreciated!

    Thanks!

looks good. I'd try to fit in a SSD if you can. You can symlink all your wow folders and easily fit them in a 32GB and still have space left over. They start at $100 for a cheap ridata or $120 for an OCZ Vertex (newegg.com pricing). Combine of those with a 1TB 7200RPM HD with 32MB cache and you should be good to go.

When I built my system I focused on new architecture (i7), high RAM (12GB), SSD, and a video card with high VRAM. The above system has all of that. It's basically the exact system I play on, and you won't have any trouble 5-boxing everything in WotLK, including Dalaran and Wintergrasp.

I just went through this whole ordeal last month. Tried quad core with 12 gig and a i7 920. I tested it with 10 boxing. The i7 is sooooo much better ad handling it. Hopefully you know how to set up core affinities, since that is how you get the best out of you processor. Go for the I7 920. And make sure it has capabilities to go to 24 gigs of ram(6 slots). The I7 was a bit more, but its CPU mark was at the top of the charts
