Need help. Heroic Oculus

Hey all. I searched the forums, I watched the videos, but I am having some trouble with Heroic Oculus. My biggest problem is the Drake adds that he summons. I use the 5x Amber Drakes like in the videos, have the time stop rotation, etc, but as soon as he summons those drakes, they just start taking out all of my guys one after another.

How do you deal with them?

Speaking of that loathsome instance...
Has that instance become easier since gear now does play a role and assuming we're not talking of just blues.

I did part of it until two of my toons refused to follow my main but even my chars are well overgeared for heroics it just felt kinda the same prior to the gear-vehicle changes.

Figures. I stopped looking at the Wiki because every time I needed help on a Northrend Dungeon, the entry was blank (save for a few).

But anyway, I did it exactly as the wiki had set it up, and I just DID IT!!!!

I have now finished every Northrend Heroic!!!!

I can't speak to this from a multibox point of view (yet), but it has definitely gotten easier now that gear scales. I'm probably averaging just over iLevel 213 on all my gear FWIW.

For what it's worth, I tried doing the emerald / ruby combo in the Wiki, but I kept wiping at 60-70%. I then switched to the 5x amber strat and it was MUCH easier. Was able to finish after a couple tries. (yes, it was on heroic) *shrug*

Amber drakes always require luck. If the RNG timer on the whelp spawns is bad after the first banish, it's pretty much a loss. I still find reds/greens 10x easier, and it's how I got my 20 minute Occulus clear kill. It's pretty much ezmode once you get it done once.

Buddy of mine and I just finished up the 20 min kill with 4 amber 1 ruby - was shockingly easy with gear scaling in place.

I personally find the 5 amber mix to be the winning combo if I'm going in alone.

As for follow issues - setup a key like so:

/focus [toon name]
/follow focus
/assist focus

tap that once you're on the drakes or need to retarget and you should be all set.
