Pip in octopus?

Ive been trying to get the picture in picture display function to work in octopus. Every time I do it the screen begins to flicker and I can see a tiny window in the upper left-hand corner of my screen, my computer becomes unresponsive unless i push the windows button. I am using 2 accounts on 1 computer (I believe this is multi-instancing but I'm new to this so plz don't flame )
if that is any help on the matter. My system specs are :

Hp pavilion dv6000
Processor: Amd Turion 64 x 2 mobile technology TL-60 2.00GHz
Ram- 4.00GB
OS- Windows vista 64bit
Video card- Nvidia GEforce 7150M/Nforce 630m

If you need to know anything else I can look it up. But any help setting it up to work properly would make my day =).
O and btw, my account here is new but I plan on being an actual member here, rather than just making and account to ask 1 question lol.

You're Doing It Wrong(tm).

On a more serious note, how do you have your maximizer setup done? Messing up a maximizer window area can cause no end of pain if you're not thinking about that.

Love Octopus, I have been using it the whole time I been boxing. I have my set up set to swap on F6-F10. It is really not that hard to do so just wondering where your issue is coming from. Off the top of my head, the profile for WoW is set up with what wow account you want, then what maximizer setting you want, then you check what you want to happen, then there is a blank space you click on then you set the shortcut key you are using. Now are you sure both of them are set up to swap? Each one has to have a short cut key associated to it.

I tried using the guide in your sig to set it up and I have wow running in a tiny tiny window (slightly bigger than my finger) on the screen and the rest of the screen is flickering. I was wondering also if i get this configured correctly if I could have it setup kind of like this on my screen

Since my other character gets caught on things and I only realize it halfway down the road . Lol and I know I am prolly doing something wrong, possibly all of it . Any ideas? And tyvm for putting up with my noob questions.

Heh, yeah, these types of problems are frustrating at first. Followed shortly by, "Oh, geez...I shoulda thought of that."

Try setting your maximizer settings for something very generic. Like:

Server-->Maximize:
(let's assume your desktop is set to 1680x1050 widescreen)

• wow 1, Region X = 0, Region Y = 0, Width 800, Height 600
• wow 2, Region X = 800, Region Y = 0, Width 800, Height 600

This should set them up for both 800x600 and wow 1 on the left, wow 2 on the right. It's the same size, but it will verify that when you do PiP switching, things still work properly and everything seems OK. Once you confirm it works with these settings, then try changing to something more radical, like:

• wow 1, Region X = 0, Region Y = 0, Width 1280, Height 960
• wow 2, Region X = 1280, Region Y = 0, Width 400, Height 300

This setup will give you a nice big main and a small but still visible alt window.

Of course, you should vary your resolutions depending on what you're running at. Try mapping the regions out on pen/paper first if it helps visualize the sizes you want things to be.

One final note: if you're using (or will want to use) mouse click broadcasting, make sure your resolution is set to the same aspect ratio and UI scale for BOTH copies of WoW or things will be off slightly. If that needs more explanation, let me know and I'll dig up one of my previous posts explaining it in a bit more detail.
