    Default ISBoxer/Innerspace

Hey guys, couple of questions that I'm sure has been answered befor, hope someone got the time to help me out though

If I want to setup a FTL, how do I get IS to detect which character I have as focus? Is it only done through focus? Is there any other way to do this?
I'm not using a focus based targeting system normaly, rather a assist based, but I'm guessing you're kind of forced to use focus if you use ISBoxer to set it up?
If I wanted to add a condition to my attack chain, say I want to include my priest in my attack chain, untill the point where I need to heal with it, is there any way to do this? Could I have them attack all together untill the point where I press the hotkey for the first heal?

If you use the setup wizard in ISBoxer you are setup for FTL from the start, which is not a focus based (hence the F(ocusless) in FTL) The keymaps use modifiers (shift, ctrl, alt, etc) for each char you have in your charset.

the wizard does it for you

nop - the wizard is an FTL assist-based setup (meaning you can still create shift/alt/ctrl bindings!!!)

yes - just bind a macro for your priest to your main dps key, and preface a separate priest heal macro with "/stopcasting" ... (this is a macro question though, not really an isboxer question)

A couple of my own questions on the ISBoxer FTL set up.

I'm currently using Target=TargetTarget, from the No Focus Manifesto.
My macro's are set up, with each toon targeting the leader.
And then either casting at the target of my target.
Or assisting the leader and then doing whatever.

My understanding of FTL is I won't need to assist or target the leader.
The system will have the slaves assist on their own, whoever is in the active window.
As far as ISBoxer goes, would I just put Lightning Bolt and Shadow Bolt on key 1, and press either, with the non-active window doing the same (press 1), but at the target of the active window?

I use a ton of modifier keys in my macro's.
A button will do one thing normally, another with Alt, another with Ctrl, another with Shift.
Can I still make a button do a ton of things depending on modifiers used.
Or will the FTL require that the modifiers chosen are exclusively for FTL ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, exactly

I use a ton of modifier keys in my macro's.

Yes, you can still make keys that do different things depending on the modifiers. For example, I like to use CTRL to control a different subset of characters -- maybe my healer wont DPS if I dont hold CTRL, but if I do it means everyone DPS. Or if I hold Alt it might do AE damage instead of single target). Stuff like that. I do these things by making additional Mapped Keys. You can look at the "FTL DPS Keys" Key Map in ISBoxer (from the wizard) for examples, and then make your own in a similar way.

Well there could be a few reasons why. Lets start at the beginning:
    1. Is IS opening all the windows correctly?
    2. Are all characters part of the keymap?
    3. Do you have a keymap toggle switch that you may have hit and toggled your keymap off?
    4. Is the key you are hitting already assigned to something in WoW? If so unbind it, this is not necessary, but I find weird cases where it actually works.
    5. Did you save your setup and export it to IS?
    6. IS will now reload when you update macros, but sometimes I find you have to restart WoW and IS to get it working. Once in a while, but not always.
    7. Did you assign two macros to the same key? It's easiest to figure out IS by doing one macro at a time until you think you have it down. That way it's much easier to diagnose problems.
    8. Did you set up virtual files for all your characters?

Having said all that, there are still a bunch of reasons that could be your issue and I just cant remember them right now. Watching the two videos on youtube for setting up ISBoxer should solve just about any problem you are having right now. It may seem difficult now, but soon you will be setting up a new group in as little as 10mins. It's almost too easy =/

p.s. there is an IRC where you can chat with the developer of ISBoxer and he helped me out a few times.

Hmmm... Maybe this is my problem.

    3. Do you have a keymap toggle switch that you may have hit and toggled your keymap off?
.....Toggle key? I will hunt for this... Is this different than the turn on mouse keyboard repeater?

    4. Is the key you are hitting already assigned to something in WoW? If so unbind it, this is not necessary, but I find weird cases where it actually works.

So if i read this correctly i should unbind all keys that are used for keymaps? For example "Num7" is my primary DPS key but have have ingame mapped this key to "1"

the keymap is something like this:

    DPS Key = Num 7
    ...........Set 1
    ...............Action = assist leader
    ....................Action = 1 (presses 1)

    is that wrong?

If you used the Quick Setup Wizard, then you would already have a toggle key for key maps. Toggling Repeater does not affect Key Maps.

And no, nothing is wrong with having a key set to num 7 that presses 1.

If you're having a problem it might help to explain what the problem you're having is, and it would help very much to see your config. You can either upload ISBoxerToolkitProfile.XML, or right click "ISBoxer" at the top in the software, select "Copy ISBoxer Toolkit Profile to Clipboard", and then paste away.
