Set this up over the weekend. Overjoyed to be able to move to my mac rather than PC. Worked pretty well.

I actually ended up running 4 copies by using Spaces and it work surprising well. Having the same window open at the same resolution and in the same place on each screen is a big boon, and OSX is pretty quick at switching between the windows, faster than Keyclone was on my top end PC. You may want to consider supporting Spaces as you look to adding support for UI control of the windows.

Now onto my small feature request list

I'd love a blacklist override key like Keyclone has so that everything can be sent when needed (like "/dance", which does not work with wasd blacklisted). I agree with other comments that a bolder indicator is needed for showing when Plexer is transmitting or not.

On the same topic, it would be great if we could set up a hotkey for each application that can suspend input to that individual application. This is very hand for the new instances where for example a single character needs to stop dps against the boss as he has been marked. Hot keying the passing of input this way would seem an elegant way of handling this and may also prove handy at other times.

    Keep up the great work.

LOL... I didn't even think about Spaces. That's a good idea. I was too busy trying to figure out how the heck to down the window transformations that Expose does; looks like it's done through an internal API... bummer.

There is an "override key", toggle Plexer on/off. Yeah, I need to get the icon difference more clear. Is this not the feature you were thinking of?

I'll try and think of a way to get the "disable key" working. I hadn't thought of doing that... that puts a little wrinkle in my current methodology of doing things.

In terms of the override, it's a blacklist override we need. Sometimes we want to broadcast keys that are actually on the blacklist for normal use. Exiting for example on all clients, I usually type /quit, but as WASDQE are blacklisted i can't quit on all clients.

I've tried to tie in the Spaces hotkeys (command key + 1,2,3....) to also be the keys in wow that change focus. If this had worked it would have been ideal but I'm not quite sure if Plexer is seeing these keys. It seems to see part of them but I assume OSX is handling these in a special way given they work in every application to control Spaces. Juist now the only workaround is to swich windows with the Spaces shorcut then manually change focus with another key. Slighly awkard but workable. Of course if you do your own window switching system this will be a moot point.

I now actually prefer using Spaces and not having multiple windows open. I can play the game in full res and switch quickly to another client if i need to at exactly the same res and every UI element in the same place. Now if a mac guru somewhere could figure out how to pass mac mouse clicks thru to each app in Spaces, you could replicate mouse clicks to every client too!

Man, I wasn't understanding anything earlier.

I totally get what you're asking for with the ability to turn off the filters. I'll see about adding that.

Mouse clicks is on my list, but that's after I get the re-write working again and getting network support going.

I'll look into the Spaces thing.

Actually... question on the Spaces problem. Are you saying that you have a macro or something bound to the command+num in WoW (and also have your change to Space # set up as that) and that Plexer isn't broadcasting that correctly to the other instances of WoW but the original WoW app is getting the keystroke?

With regards to the blacklist - for slash commands I just hold down shift while typing them, I have 'wasd' blacklisted but haven't seen a need to blacklist 'WASD' and wow slash command work in caps.

No biggie, the feature is already implemented and working in Plexer v2.0 (which might just become v1.1).

Basically I've completely re-architected Plexer to support a plug-in architecture and re-wrote the broadcasting feature as a plug-in. So, if you don't like mine, you could write your own.

The back-end is about 80% done with the same feature parity as the currently released version of Plexer. I'll be working on the UI rewrite next... not sure how long that will take to do as I'm still brainstorming ideas of what I want here.

Yes, played around with this some more tonight. OSX blocks the shortcuts you set up for Spaces ever reaching the client. I could bind and use Ctrl+1 for example in WoW, but as soon I enable that in Spaces, WoW never sees it. Shame as it would have been an easy win but it was to be expected.

Interesting... in my latest version that I'm playing with I can see the keystroke so it should be possible for me to send it to the clients even though OSX/Spaces is appearing to eat it.

Makes sense though that WoW isn't seeing it though, my key listening is sitting pretty high in the stack. I'll play around with it in the next week or so, after I get a few other things working, to see if I can't come up with a work-around for that.
