    Default Hardware Requirements

So I've been considering getting a multibox system setup for quite some time, and I'm curious what kind of system specs are necessary for running several machines.

Obviously Id like to keep things on the less expensive side, so I'm wondering whats a baseline system look like. Are we talking onboard video adapters, is there any cheap storage solution seeing as if the computer is solely for online gaming it wont need more than 10gigs of space? If I'm using my main computer (good specs) for the main char/monitor, the rest can be run on basic resolutions if I'm not watching their monitor output except on rare configuration issues, right?

I've read a lot here about software/hardware accessories which has been incredibly helpful, if anyone could speak to the actual machine specs for a 4 or 5 box setup I would appreciate it.

(perhaps someday Xzin I'd blow the kind of money you do, but for now, pretend you're on a budget )

If your focus is just PVE you can get away with a low end system for the most part. Right now my 2nd system is an Intel P3 1.2G with 384mb with a PCI video card!! That there is a horrible horrible system

What does this POS allow me to do? With wows settings all the way down this system can handle auto following my main toon on the other account. However if I hit town it locks up from lag for a bit. I use it strictly for a healer. Press 1 for earth sheild, Press 2 for Wind Fury totem, Press 3 for lesser heal wave. That’s all the machine can really handle.

I cannot do anything but auto follow. After I hearth to town it takes minutes not seconds for me to be able to move. I avoid a high pop area when I can.

If your purpose is just to drag a healer behind you something like this PC you can pretty much find for free. Get a few quests done; speed up the down time leveling a bit.

Anything else you’re going to need something better. Also remember that it’s a hassle to have a low end system like mine, constant little lock ups that turn off allow follow, you then have to get your 2nd account caught up to your main account at like 5 frames a second. Not fun =)

For PVE I suggest an Intel P4, 512mb ram, and of course a 3dfx card.

PVP Intel P4+, 1g ram, decent video card ($120 should be enough to get the job done. Just research the card and ensure it’s a decent one)

My old system which my wife took, was a 3.2G with HT, 1g and a decent video card. That system could run wow twice and the price to buy a system of this speed isn’t that much.

Check out www.cyberpowerpc.com systems start at $465. I’ve had a couple systems from this company and I love them. That’s where I plan to buy all of mine for the 5 boxing setup. Those systems are higher end and are only going to cost around $500 each.
