Thread: Vanguard?

  1. #1

    Default Vanguard?

I have a friend that is over in the middle east right now on tour and said he wants to check out Vanguard when he gets back...

Have any of you tried it?

    How about Multi-boxing it?

Any insight both good and bad would be appriciated.

I played a Blood Mage for some time in Vanguard and loved it.

Unfortuantly it had to many flaws at that time and people left.

Now it's alot better but you can't find a group anymore, just not enough people.

Thats why I was think about Boxing there.

    Was thinking

    Shadowknight
    Blood Mage
    Cleric
    Psionist
    2 Necromancer

I was really loooking into Vanguard for a while, but one major pitfall is that quite a lot of the player base has already quit. Apparently there were some major flaws at release and if I remember correctly there are only around 50,000 people currently playing.

Tell your friend to multibox WoW. From what I've seen that really makes people enjoy the game again. It's almost like playing for the first time... just with a bunch of kids calling you a bot and hacker.

Hmm ok. I hear they are going to come out with free trials sometime early 08. Maybe I will try it then. Also was reading since thier server merge grouping isn't any more of a problem than it is in WOW. I was only going to start out duo'ing and was thinking Blood Mage and some form of Heavy Tank.

Thanks for the input so far guys. I will tell my friend on tour when he comes back we an try it out but if not WoW is a safe fallback.

We didn't quit because of "flaws" or "bugs". We quit when SOE took it over and forced an unwanted server merge. But i went back to it, to see what changes have taken place. Plus I use Keyclone to multibox on Vanguard. But I think I'll play EQ2 instead. Been trying it out also. But the more I read about WoW here....maybe I'll have to go there. Only tried it out for a few hours once. A couple of years ago.

They should upgrade the content of the now functioning Vanguard, polish it.. and release it as Vanguard 2 or something. It was a pretty sweet game, but it wasn't even ready for beta when it went live, so a lot of people were unable to enjoy the game.
