I thought IPS panels were great for photo editing with bright colors but were sucky for games due to ghosting effects? I am somewhat on a budget, but i will look into that monitor, especially if it has component hookups

As far as power suplly, the house was renovated probably w/in the last 10 years or so the wiring should be fine.....Grounding, off a radiator or w/e's going to be impossible I think..wooden baseboards, carpet, painted dry wall. (Im guessing furniture is not something I want to use.)

My 2 computers run off 2 outlets (1 each) with their monitors with a surge board each. Both computers run fine, the other monitor, an older Dell 4+ years old, runs fine. I'm assuming the computer running with the HD monitor is running fine as well. The only issue I can see is the monitor dimming. The Dell monitor was also hooked up to this previously and ran fine, so I don't think it's the power source or problem from the computer. The dimming occurs whether I run the air conditioner in the room or not.

From what I got off Google, the whitescreen from the first Samsung monitor was common to that model and was a problem with the monitor. This one, idk, bad luck I giess....(just noticed the TV to my right I've had for years is a Samsung...works great though.) Bad luck I guess.

    I'm using a 30.5" Samsung - Syncmaster 305T.
My previous monitor was a Samsung 22", which I passed on to my mother.

Both are working fine, 2 years on the 30", 3 years on the 22".

I recently got 2 samsung monitors (1 22" 120hz for 3d and main window and 1 23" high rez (2048x1152) for 4 wow slave windows) and except for the fact that their color balance is totally different - they are great so far
