Exclamation Help me be like Prepared. =)

Alright I registered not so long ago to Dual-Boxing.com; So i will like to say Was Up Everyone!!!

I've been coming to this website since like 2007 since i saw Ellay Videos at 70 doing
Arena/BG's Saying: Who am I? Aelli Aellie ect. Before i begin my topic i will like to tell
you a little bit about myself. Am 19 years old graduated from High School last year. Been
working fast food/construction since i graduated. Am about to start college this semester
to start a career and better My Life. Enough with the boring part.

Now i know everyone here knows Prepared. "The guy who Multibox/boxed 32 shamans." i dont know
What happened to him but all his shamans are 70+ and his main is 79 but he really inspired me to do
the same. Gaming has been a really big Hobby of mine since like Nintendo playing some Double
Dragon 3 haha. i've taken the time to buy 32 copies of WoW and TBC. just need to find some cheap
WOTLK Cdkeys. i stoped console gaming since i beat PSO on dreamcast in 1998 then introduced to
diablo 1 in 1998 on my Windows 95 PC ^^ To hurry up and end this essay i will like Opinions on what
I need to get Like Monitors, Mouse, keyboards and building specs on how ever many PC's Lol.

I might get alot of bad comments like am retarded but then again its just a hobby.

PS. I have a 32" LCD HDTV 1080i 720p 480p 480i compatible. not sure if that will be any good for a monitor to use for slaves, but it might work =/

On a minimum wage income, how exactly will you afford 32+ accounts per month? There is a point where I think it becomes ludicrous even if you are making $100k+ per year.

You also have to consider what your goals are. If you just want a buttload of shaman for no damn reason at all, go for it. If you have any specific goals - reconsider. You won't be able to solo 25 mans, you won't be able to solo BG's because they require you to be in several places at once (even quad boxing has a serious impact on things like WSG and AB because of 4 people following each other), and as far as raiding towns and things like wintergrasp, people will just spam AOEs (since every class has one now) and kill your group whether it's 32 shaman or 320 shaman. And even if they didn't, I can't imagine justifying the effort to level that big of a group to do the same thing over and over, especially since there's really no tangible reward for that kind of thing.

Be that as it may, if you have lots of disposable income and time, and just want to do something absolutely ridiculous just to say that you did, have at it

While I agree with most of the comments about BG being impossible, I do disagree that anyone could aoe that many characters if they have lightning shield on. I also disagree that 25 man content couldnt be boxed. Although clearly there would be some bosses that arent possible.

If it was me doing it, Id make just 25 characters, 2 paladin tanks, 1 warlock, 1 mage, 1 priest. 20 shamans. Or something along those lines. Id do it purely with the intent of killing some 25 man bosses. I think the amount of time it takes to level that many characters means that you had better have something big to motivate you at the end because you wont make it otherwise. I think this is why Prepared hasnt made it yet. Im not sure what Sam is doing but the way he was leveling his chars via grinding will take him 5 years to get to 80 anyway.

Id most probably level 5 at a time which means you dont have the expense of all 25 accounts whilst you are leveling. Also once you get your first team to 80 you have a pala tank there to boost the other accounts up to 60 with.

Once you have all 25 characters up to 80, then Id buy the equipment needed to use all of them. That way if it takes u 6 months to level all the characters, the new 8 core processors may be out or nearly out and you would be able to get a lot more bang for your buck.

If you are still 100% keen on taking the dive and leveling all 25 at the same time, Id estimate that you would want to aim for at least 4 i7 machines with at least 12gb of ram on each machine.

I hope that has helped and maybe given you a few ideas to work with

Multiboxing is really a lots-of-free-time-and-expendable-cash hobby. WoW demands your time and money anyway, but multiboxing comes with a lot of learning and UI-tweaking overhead which cuts into what a lot of us think of as play time. And obviously, more expensive. IMO, though I'm sure someone can prove me wrong, it's not appropriate for a college student. You'll have better things to do and worry about being able to afford.

First learn to construct a sentence, then possibly a raid.

    32 accounts at 15 dollars a month is 480 dollars a month.

Fast food/construction usually pays minimum wage for non-management/engineering types. But I'll assume you are making 10 dollars an hour, and getting full 40 hour weeks in. That's 1600 dollars a month prior to taxes, but for the sake of it we'll forget about those. You'll be left with a touch over 1100 dollars a month. Take out, rent, food, gas, and money for books for the college classes you plan to take and you're left with next to nothing, then you have to pay those taxes we forgot about. Financally, it's a very poor descision on your part, not to mention the impact the time taken will have on your grades.

College isn't just High School version 2, there is a lot you will have to think about that you didn't have to worry about in High School. You have to pay rent, balance time for school and work, keep your schedule, stay up on your reading, et cetera. If you are really looking to multibox as a hobby, try to keep it in the hobby realm, try 5 boxing for a while, and reduce your initial financial and temporal investments, until you are able to descearn whether or not you will be able to balance life success, and gaming. Remember, degrees pay you, soloing 25man raids does not.
