You will definitely want to do Heroics for the Conquest badges. This gear is far better than most items in TOC normal or heroic. However, there are still some pieces that you will likely want from both TOC normal and heroic anyway to fill the gaps (at least for me this is the case).

This happened to me once, but I decided to just reset the instance and do it again. I never thought about trying to fight them, I did mount up one guy and toss a shield-breaker to see what would happen and it removed the shield, but the champ quickly reapplied it. I just assumed they would become totally invincible so I reset.
Yes. When Blizzard gives you lemons, make lemonade.

I'm sucking ass on the first ground combat stage with my 1xPally and 4xShammy team. I am fresh 80 and my pally tank was just getting his butt whooped where I had to constantly heal.

Should I maybe make one of the shammies heal full time? Or do I just need to get more gear (couple crafted purples and rest are green quest rewards). And maybe see if I can find some skill somewhere.

YES! I consider this to be the hardest easily boxable instance in the game at the moment. The last bosses in Oc and OK are not worth it (I do clear the other 4 in OK for badges). So grind badges and gear up. Even in normal ToC I will sometimes lose a shammy to a concentrated burst from the champions on mount. I have gotten better switching horses, I am farming normal for 3 more www.wowhead.com/?item=Abyssal Rune. If you’re having problems after the mounted combat then you’re probably going to really have problems with the Black Knight.

So yeah go run GD, DTK, UK, Nexus and knock out the farmable bosses in the other instances. You should be able to clear 30 badges in a 4 hour window of farming once you get up to speed. Plus heaps of enchanting/leather mats and vendor trash. Farm gold for craftables but don't waste too much time you’re gonna replace most craftables. Focus on badges and optimizing your strategies. Spend the money on your tank for Northern Barrier, Cloak of the Iron Council, and Signet of the Earthshaker the rest is badge gear. Shammys can use Titansteel Guardian or you can easily pick up the Dagger of Lunar Purity out at the AT.

My pally shammy team is mostly done (finally got a piece of T9) for my taste, so I am gonna start gearing up my other team (mixed class) soon. Which I expect will be a bit more painful.

Just want to post a comment on this:

Each pack consists of 2 dps'ers and a healer. Put your shamans in the middle and pull one pack towards you, burn them down and move on to the next. Directly after killing the third mob pack, the boss will aggro you.
The last part about the boss aggroing you is not true. They just move up a few paces, so if you are far enough back they will stand there and let you drink (Paletress or Egan(sp)).

There's a great tank stam trinket in ToC too... I'm thinkin about farmin for it to stack with my stam trinket from H AN.. i love stam.... fully buffed, with Sanc, Fort, and imp out im at 36k hp. makes heroics that much easier, I hardly heal except for boss fights.

Just beat normal - WOO HOO! May not seem like that much of a biggie, but JOUSTING SUCKS! Until I figured out what to do.

I won't go into all the mistakes I made, just say what worked. I set up the two suggested macros up on my mouse buttons on all my toons as the following:

ISBoxer already sets up my /focus #tankname# up when I switch between windows.

    Toons:
    /assist focus
    /click [target=vehicle,exists] VehicleMenuBarActionButton1
    /click [target=vehicle,exists] VehicleMenuBarActionButton2

    Tank:
    /click VehicleMenuBarActionButton1
    /click VehicleMenuBarActionButton2

Then positioned the boys at the door where the opponents enter and never had to change my tanks mount.

Chancellor kicked my ASS! I just wasnt doing that much damage - sad cause I kill a few heroics. Lot of chain heals, shadow resist took away my armor and that hurt. Elementals, blood lust, and LoH got her down on my 2nd try.

Black Knight wasn't too terribly hard after reading all the strats here.

EDIT: 2nd run - Killed Chancellor first run, are some of the shadows easier than other? Ony was tough, viking dude easy. Black Knight wooped me up this time, but had the tank and a dps left when he died.

anyone have strategies for paletress? Eadric is fairly easy, but I've got no chance on paletress - can't even get the memory down to 50% ... is anyone doing this successfully on TOC normal?

I don't know what team-setup you are asking tactics for, but if it's shaman purge on the renew and having stacked tremor's up is of course the thing. If you arent, i recommend having ur tank far away as possible from the grp, and when fearbomb comes just hit follow then spread right after so everyone is facing the right direction again.

Paletress is all about getting the HoT/renew off the summoned mob; 22k over 3-seconds if I recall. Any team should have at a minimum of one char that can dispel/tranq, ect…

I run a hunter in the team and simply put Tranquil Shot in the rotation. The fear bomb is not a big deal with the “interact with target” and “click to run” enabled. I have my Shaman running a chain heal rotation; the memory does not melee very hard; Spriest drops shadow protection on the group. Directly following the fear, I gather up the team using the interact with target key, then simply move the memory back out of melee range of the group.
