Speaking of DPS

While on the subject of broken macros and how to get your DPS back up to snuff, I wanted to get some thoughts on what I am accomplishing. I have played sporatically of late and I don't really have any one to compare myself to but I am curious if I am doing OK for the gear I'm in or if I'm sucking hind tit on DPS.

I can clear 5 heroics without much trouble (that's all I have really tried) but I see that everyone here seems to pull about 2k dps at a minimum. Here is what I have and what they do:

Coltimar - Colt, my tank, does about 1085 dps in a typical day (these stats were taken during the course of the 4 heroics I did today)
Marlun - Dedicated healer, still pulls in around 600 DPS
Teetoe - 1465 DPS
Jermayne - only pulling 1478 today
Jackea - generally my worst geared toon doing 1702 DPS for the day

Here is the DPS macro I'm using:

I used to use a series of /castsequence macros but this one does almost identical DPS for me.

Is this low for my gear/spec? Just from reading what everyone else does I think it might be but I am not sure. Always looking to improve.

edit: For totems I drop about one of everything (Strength of Earth, ToWrath, Flametongue)

with Draenei herioc presence and with elemental precision you need 79 spell hit to not miss a spell vs a level 82 critter basically herioc boss this will help eeck out some more dps.

Jackea hit a string of good crits thats all :P

I would say yer doing fine dps wise considering what gear yeh have.

I don't know if a string of good crits would make up Jackea's DPS, lol. The data was gathered over 5 hours.

My mixed group is geared similar to you and I get about 1700 on my paladin tank and 1500-2000 on my 3 dps. With the simplicity of shaman and only using them you should be able to get over 2k. I should be able to also but I don't think I've messed with my macros since the early 70s. I've cleared all the heroics except occulus which I havent even tried and have done them with about 1500 dps.

I think you should be able to up your dps from your paladin instantly though. With the simple castsequence 969 macro you should get at least 1500 dps and more with group pulls.

edit: check to make sure youre not using any downranked spells

A big trouble may be that I have to use Seal of Wisdom a lot or I got oom, badly. Even with Mana Spring up 100%.

Looks good, I also use seal of wisdom and judgement of wisdom. I start off pulls with avenger's shield and consecration.

Hmm, me too. I don't know why my dps is so low then :/ My expertise is kind of low but I hesitate to sacrifice Str for expertise, since Str scales so well.

I just checked your talents and you dont have touched by the light or reckoning and I do.

Those 2 can add up quite a bit of dps. I dont have the 5%+ healing or the 10% less mana for instant talents that you do.

If yer pali going oom yer not pulling enough either that regear em for what ever instance yer going for because yeh have to much avoidance for it. Primary way for a pali to get mana is thru healing if yer not getting enough incoming damage you oom.

expertise is about as useful as wisdom/int for pali dont bother with it.

Oh snap I just realized yeh dont have spiritual attunement? get it yeh wont be oom any more yeh wont need blessing of wisdom and would be able to use something like kings (for more stam/str/agi ...) or sanctuary for mana when yeh block/parry/dodge

I would also get that last point in touch by light.
