Default What shoudl my Pally be doing in a 1xPally 4xShaman Team?

So I've finally made the plung from 3-boxing to 5-boxing. I've started a 1xPally 4xShaman team. Now, I'm only level 18, so I realize I might just be jumping the gun here, but I'm noticing that my Paladin is doing very (VERY) little in the group. I am following the TourGuide for 1-60 Multi-boxing and I 2-3 shot pretty much everything that isn't elite (and I don't come across many elites).

So my question is, what is my paladin suppose to be doing? Is it that he won't be of any use until much higher levels or should I be using him differently? Right now, I just blast things with my 4 dps Shaman.

    Thoughts?

Yeah there's not much for pallies to do at the lower levels apart from buffing...although BoW means you shouldnt have too many mana problems early on.

Stick with it though, you'll find your pally doing more and more as you gain levels. I actually ran my pally spec'd as Ret until I hit Northrend - at which point you must spec Prot if you want to run instances.

As your leveling up when you get instance quests you should do them. You will learn how to use your paladin to tank in instances. They aren't of much use outside in the world areas. Even doing elite quests with 4x shamans you can nuke them down pretty fast.

If you do all or most of the instances as you level up it will break the quest monotony. I love leveling in instances...gear,achievements, you get left alone, and good xp especially if you have multiple quests or rest.

Learn the 969 rotation and search these boards for a single button castsequence macro.

Paladins are cake to tank in a five box.

969 rotation? Can you give me a little more information? I'm not getting anything on the search results for that

Go to any tanking site and read up on threat management for a paladin.

The major paladin threat spells are either on a 6 or 9 second cooldown. Consecration, judgements, shield of righteousness, etc.

The 969 rotation refers to the optimal sequence for casting these spells as soon as they come off cooldown. You can put this into a premade /castsequence macro that, while not as efficient as micro play, will hold aggro for your team in any 5 man instance with ease.
