Default question regarding notebook numeric keypads

Hello, I have a question regarding those notebook numeric keypads such as this

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16823201034

is it possible to have these keys mapped differently then numeric keypad? Would i need a driver and software to do it?

I would like to use it for wow, but just to have the extra keys and not have it use any of my main keyboard keys.

i looked into different keyboards, but can not afford them at the moment. So I thought this would be a nice alternative

    thanks

Software is required but not necessarily a driver. If you plug the keypad into a second computer on your network, this can be done with HotkeyNet.

A program could be written that does this with a single computer but so far as I know, nobody has done this except the manufacturers of products like the X-Keys.
