Unless I'm mistaken on the complexity of Glider, wasn't the BG botting problem more an issue of mouse clickers that just repeatedly clicked the 6 or so spot to hit the battle master, queue up, enter, repeat? With a potential variance for following a random player or something.

But botting in WoW is a no-no anyway you look at it. I wouldn't see it as too much of an issue if someone actually developed a game around the concept of writing AI and letting your character play themselves all day.

But then, that is the sort of thing that strikes me as being fun as hell: wiritng behavior, analyzing performance, and adjusting behavior based on that.

pff, botting in WoW is still big in BG's for example and people exping up to 80, see plenty of them.

Reason why Aion gotten a bad botters rep is cause of the Chinese company that runs it, its not NCsoft but some Chinese company that still is in a early patch of the game and simply don't care about botting, the Korean version is better from my understanding and is in the latest patch, dont see it beeing any more bots in Aion then it is in WoW tbh.

I personally have no desire whatsoever to compete for spawns/resources against a character that never logs off, never gets tired, never has a lapse in attention span. I came from games where bots were legal, tolerated or ignored and they are not something I ever want to deal with again. I've seen bot owners hold zones and game economies hostage. I've even seen bots used to camp other players when someone decides to be extremely mean. I fail to see any reason to invest time and money into a game where people who don't play {bots} control everything.

Aion may look like its heavier then WoW to run, but its infact the opposit, it runs easier. I was rather chocked at this fact, but having a 3D-engine that is 5-6 year newer then the one used in WoW seems to have som advantages
