Thread: Ping problem

    Default Ping problem

I'm 10-boxing. everything is fine (i have shamans). I push "focus" macro and every shaman focuses on main char. Then I push "/follow focus" macro and everyone goes with me. I push "/cast [target=focustarget] ..." macro and everyone strikes someone. Now shamans are 65lvl, but one thing is bad: their movement. I need to stop every 10 secs of movement. Other characters stop following me, because they just can't go so fast (i'm blinking in their windows)
Is this because 5mbit is too small for 10 characters and because of this I have network lags? Is there any chance to resolve this problem?
When I was 4-boxing warlocks - there was not any problem like this
I have other WoWs running in background.

The clients in the background will never follow properly because when minimized the game doesn't update frequently enough.

I have small monitor (22"). If I will run them all in VERY small windows in non-background mode with resolution about 500x200, would this problem got resolved?

yes. but i needed to reduce framerate of all other windows to 10 and reduce settings of all wow-s to minimal, because it was so laggy. It is laggy now too (videocard is too slow) when I put totems

Is this because 5mbit is too small for 10 characters
    5Mbit is more than enough.

In the past, my wife and I have happily boxed our five character teams together (for a total of 10), with me still running my auction guy in the background doing the high performance Auctioneer scans, often with a friend using our network with a single character too, on a two megabit connection and never had any problems at all.

What you're experiencing is definitely related to your machine, but I'll leave others with more experience of diagnosing such things to guide you through that.

edit: in fact, if you get yourself a bandwidth monitor, I bet you find you're not using more than 10-15% of your available downstream bandwidth.
