Trying to figure out healing

is there a way to make

/target Party1
/cast heal

this way is if join with a friend and only use 4 toons i dont have to make a new macro with his name in it. I thought it would be strait forward but above does not work for me.

now i am using
/target (character name)
/cast heal

The macro you listed should work just fine. You could do this instead:

/cast [target=party1] heal spell

You don't need to make a brand new post for every healing question you have. You can get all your questions answered on healing by having a diologue within the other threads you started.

They changed they way party names are done recently, so I could be wrong. Party1 should always be the leader, no matter what (except in raids). Party2-5 are the group members, but not always the same person each time since the chars are randomly listed in the group. It probably has to do with the time that each got invited or each accepted, but if you do it all at once, it turns out random. I use party1 in my focus, but then use a name after it so even if the person isn't there, someone gets focused. You should be able to use party1 in your targets. There is a 10% chance you can't capitalize it. But I would really put it in the options since there is no reason to target your party, almost ever. It takes time to target someoene and the more times you do it, the more that can mess up. Also, you don't auto-attack if you target a friend, so you miss out on a tiny bit of DPS.
