    Default 5 Different classes?

Has anyone tried or like having 5 different classes? I'm thinking maybe a tankidin(kings), Spriest(stam/spi), moonkin(MOTW), mage(intel), and shaman(Totems). Anyone know if this would be a bad idea? I really think that having all the buffs from each of these would be a good idea but not sure if its practical. (Sorry ive done some reading to find out about this but could not find)

    Thanks

But is it a good way to PVE multibox? would it actually work having 5 different classes or would it be my downfall? i have a pally and shaman team that dps galore but im bored of this now. i mean i cant do every heroic in fact i can only do half but i want to have more things to think about and to test other then LVB and Clightning and LB

    Default 5 Classes

Yes Im running my 5 original toons at once in a 5 box. They were all leveled to lvl 60+ long before I started boxing and were the reason I started boxing to be able to play them all at once. I dont get maximum performance out of them, unfortunatly. Instances in thier range are a challenge, esp. when they all get feared and scatter. They are a Warrior (main), Shaman (healing), Boomkin, Hunter, Mage.

My first MB team was the 5 different classes; Pally, Druid, Shaman, Mage, and Priest. At 80, I am able to do heroics, although some of them do present challenges that might be easier with 1 tank and 4 shaman team, I like the idea of going in and being versatile.

The biggest issues I have is remembering what each of the classes can actually do, as there are so many spell options. The next issue is mapping it all out on the keyboard. Some heroics require a different scenario than others so new macros and new key binds are required. But that is all in the fun of it.

Also, the different classes gives me a chance to pull them out individually and fill needed spots on guild runs, and I actually find that quite relaxing at times compared to multiboxing heroics.

The more classes you have, the more diversity and options your team will bring to the table. Also, the more you have, the further from optimal efficiency you will get.

For PvE, an entirely mixed group is very viable. For PvP, its doable, but not at a high level of play.

With 5x Shaman's or 5x Hunters, you can have the same keys in the same places, and click them at once. You'll lose some efficiency because of the limits of follow and assist etc, but they'll be close to optimal.

With different classes, you lose more then with mostly the same. You're still able to do an amazing amount with them. Via the Click Castsequence method, you can have toons cast spells with variable cooldowns, virtually as they cooldown, by tweaking your macro's. The example showed a Druid who, via one button spam, casts Insect Swarm every 18 seconds, Moonfire every 12 seconds, and Wrath spam when not doing one of the above two timed spells.

The more classes you have, the more complex your macro's will become. Still, the combination of tweaking macro's and your settings to get things to work properly combined with beating content by yourself can be very satisfying.

I wouldn't go five different classes for the sake of having five classes. Just like you don't go 4x Shaman plus 1x Paladin because that is one of the easiest options to go. You should choose classes which you will enjoy playing.

The way I see it, I would still press the same buttons if I had all the same class or all different classes.

IMO, if you're bored, you will still be bored, sorry.

I use that exact group and have cleared most heroics. Another good thing about that group is you don't waste most gear since the only 2 that use the same armor class is the mage and priest but plenty of cloth drops.

Where is this example? Id love to make my box be able to do heroic or just a regular instance with a little more ease.

Also, what do you do when the mob fears your box?

I mostly mash the same buttons for the different classes as I do my other teams, except when there is something the class does that is used only in certain situations. Which brings up the point about the macros. You will need to write lots and lots of macros. Getting the timings down and maximizing your DPS takes a little bit of tweaking.

Give this thread a look for attempting to do it. With each different class it takes a bit of tweaking, but well worth it if you can make it work for you.

As far as fear, well, use what you have. In my case, I have the shaman drop the tremor totem, get the priest to pop on fear ward on the tank. Then I hope for the best. Needless to say, King Dred is a pain, but I still manage to kill him.

Not sure about everyone else, but here is how I have my setup going. I have the G15 keyboard and use the keypad for all the "mashing" and use the G keys for situational stuff and non-main healing. I also have and n52 that I use sometimes for some more macro keys.

Of all the teams I have made, I find the different classes to be the most challenging and most rewarding. But that is just me.

But I agree with heffner, if you are bored, making a new multi class team may not really be a cure.
